Doc waxed the letter, knowing it would be raining when Marty read it:)

Living in Hill Valley must be crazy because you got these two creating unsolved mysteries with their time machine

Fun-fact: So confident of the success of the sequel they filmed II & III together.

One of the best Cliffhanger endings ever, with the reassurance that the conclusion is six months later !

The letter trick is always my favorite part about trying to send a message to the future for time travel stories

The movie was now released closer to the November 5, 1955 than to today. When the movie was released on November 22, 1989 it had been 34 years and 17 days since that day and it's now been 34 years and 27 days since the movie was released

The original is my favourite but I think this may be the best scene of the whole trilogy.

What I found amazing is how well they duplicated the scene from the first movie when Doc sends Marty back to 1985 (roughly at 3:35). The street scene, cars, and Doc's jumping & hollering were almost identical as they appeared in part 1. And then, Marty appears - AGAIN!

"No, it can't be I sent you back to the future!"

I always thought THIS would be a good potential set-up for the fourth film: the postal worker reports what happened to his superiors, it goes back to Washington, where a 50's group ala 'Project Blue Book' for time travelers starts to investigate this strange phenomenon, and catch up with Marty in 1985...

Those guys at Western Union must take their jobs very seriously. A man actually went out in the pouring rain to deliver a letter to Marty.
