Ten years ago Australia asked NATO countries for support for foreign peace keeping troops in Ukraine. No country stepped up. Two years ago, Australia was alone in allowing Ukraine to use donated weapons and munitions wherever it wanted.
There’s an intellectual deficit in NATO that can’t comprehend outcomes until they’re blindingly obvious. It’s taken deaths and refugees for NATO to respond in a decisive way. So the question is, what changes are needed for NATO to be a force that can react before a crisis, rather than after a crisis, because it f the Australians can see the inevitable before others can, then there is a chronic lack of fortitude, resolve and intelligence in Europe.
