Sony Xperia Z2 unresponsive touch screen

The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet has touch screen problems. I'm not the only one so this is a systematic hardware or a software bug. This video demonstrates the issues me and other people experience.

After waking up the tablet the screen sometimes behaves extremely erratic, touches are not recognized at all, multi touch gestures are broken in the middle, touches or swipes are detected as taps, performing random actions. Sometimes pressing a lot harder may result in a touch being recognized. Usually turning the screen off and on temporarily fixes the issue.

Even then I noticed, that two touches are not recognized when they are on a straight line, i.e. horizontal or vertical. This happens even after turning the screen off and on and that alone in unacceptable, because it would disrupt rotating gestures or even two-finger-swipes or taps.

The tablet had the newest software to date installed, the 17.1.1.A.0.402, which obviously did not fix the issues.

This is a common problem and not work the risk, so I returned the tablet for a refund.

This is a grounding issue, to it will likely *not* be fixed in a software update:
When the tablet sits on the rubber lining of my tablet stand, and I use a hand to swipe with two fingers from left to right and back repeatedly, the touch screen will regularly lose track of either finger.
Now, when I repeat this swiping, but put my hand on the backside of the tablet while swiping, the touch precision is good. But as soon as lift my hand from the backside, the issue returns.

@dixons two days ago I bought the  Xperia Z2 tablet. hIt has the same problem :(
