I found your channel a couple weeks ago and have been binging ever since. This is my first comment. I am so appreciative of all your help and content. Your communication and production skills are awesome. I actually stopped this video 20 seconds in and replayed the last few seconds. Love the modem sound in the background! Such nostalgic memories. What a delightful touch. I’m very grateful for all you do, thank you for elevating my excel skills.

This video went from nothing new, to how in the world have I never known this, real fast! What you did is awesome and very well explained. Curious how did you learn this new technique? I think what you just did was as big of a deal as someone discovering pivot tables for the first time. I know I'm all over the place in this comment but I found this new-to-me method very exciting.

I've been watching your videos for a long time and just loving and absorbing all the free content you make -- but today I decided I needed to dive a little deeper and make sure you were compensated for all of the amazing work you do. I signed up for both this course (Power Pivot & DAX) and the Power Query course (good marketing by the way, easy upsell)! I'm looking forward to upskilling even more.

Excellent video! This is also an illustration of things that are done in Excel, when they should have been done in Access. Access can link to your company's database and eliminate the need to import and format data. Your illustration here could have been done in just 2 data tables and a few queries. Once the simple database is set up, then simply link an Excel spreadsheet to the newly created database. If you also do all the data formatting in the Access data tables and queries, that will all carry over to your Excel spreadsheet. If you have the database setup to link the the company's database, you will never have to update your Excel spreadsheet again as it is updated with the most current data each time you open it. Where Excel really shines is in graphing and presentation of the data, so definitely set up all of that in your Excel front end. It is then just a matter of adding some drop down list boxes in VBE with a few logic columns, and each department or manager can change the date range at will for their own specific report. Access is also much better at goal seeking than the convoluted way that Excel handles such tasks. Another nice feature in Access is loosing that limitation on the number of rows. Just remember to link to the Access queries and not the data tables which could have millions of rows of data. I guess i never really paid that much attention to pivot tables, as I was forced to learn to use Access more than 20 years ago by my employer. I didn't realize how powerful the pivot table could be until now. Thanks!
