People must stop ‘infantilising’ Indigenous Australians by claiming voter ID is racist: Price

Indigenous Leader Jacinta Price says people need to stop “infantilising” Indigenous Australians by suggesting the Morrison government's proposed voter ID laws are racist.

“For heaven's sake, what Indigenous person doesn’t have a bank account,” she told Sky News host Paul Murray.

“Clearly you need some form of ID to open up a bank account, otherwise you wouldn't be able to access your welfare payments or your income or your royalties payments or anything else.

“I’m absolutely done with this ridiculous argument that Ingenious Australians are too child-like, too much of a victim or too stupid to be able to actually manage their own lives.

“Enough of the insults.”

I lived in a high Aboriginal populated town (if you can call it a town). But anyway they know about I.D and how to get it. How else would they drive, smoke, watch 18+ movies and get grog?
How'd they get government assistance or apply for work/gain employment?
Seriously try in the modern age apply for a job, payment without I.D. you can't.

As an indigenous Englishman I would like to offer a culture swap with an indigenous Australian (only temporarily, you understand). I've had to show an ID to use a debit or credit card. I see no reason not to show an ID to vote.
