i just came across your channel in regards to learning Linux Mint. Please do not take what i say lightly. I have searched hundreds of Linux mint tutorials on Youtube and this series is by FAR the single best! The creator goes slow, takes his time explaining everything so that us beginners don't get overwhelmed. I wish this series was a 100 part series it is that good!

I recently installed Mint on my old laptop and I was very surprised how easy and fun Mint was to use! Everything worked out from the box, even the webcam! I did try some other Linux distros years ago and those were painful experiences. Nothing worked. No wifi, no mouse etc. These videos are very well made and detailed, helpful! So now I have W10, MacOS and Linux Mint on my household.

Such an awesome review of the Software Manager. Really great channel. Glad I found your channel, because I'm binge-watching this Beginner's Guide. Very helpful.

As a new Linux user installing programs from the 'Software Manager' is very straightforward and not the problem when it comes to installing new applications. The real problems begin for new Linux Users when it comes to installing programs that aren't contained in the 'Software Manager', for instance, I've been trying to install an older version of 'GIMP', (it's GIMP 2.8, to be exact), but it's been 'mission impossible' so far.

These videos have been a real big help to me being a Linux noob, anyway I guess what you are saying are the flatpak versions are the beta versions and you take your chance.

Installed Steam through the software manager in Mint 91.3. For anyone wondering Steam will then prompt you for a security check as it see's you on a new computer. Even though in my case (dual boot off bios) it's the same machine different os. Not all of your games will be available, at least Cities Skylines was ;).

Thanks! Is there a need to clean up after uninstalls? If so, how? Thanks again.

Thanks for this tutorial. I have a question; why the password was not asked during remove operation? (17.40)

If a program required certain additional downloads, and you downloaded them, of course. Later, if you decide to delete the downloaded program, do the additional downloads that you agreed to download become deleted as well?

I could use some more slightly complicated examples - for example "wine" - in reading the reviews it says to go to the web site and download the latest version for mint 21 - then there are Installation notes discussing "apt keys ? What are these keys? Is there some sort of registry (like windows)

I love Linux Mint and use it daily, but there is one thing I wish it had like Windows, and that is when I plug is a USB plug to use Arduino it would be nice to get a pop-up on the screen to tell me the port I am using, but I don't know how to set it up? Love your channel very helpful thanks Bob in the UK
