Thank you for sharing this knowledge for free. After years of pirating Windows, I'm finally migrating to Linux and I'm following this guide. Liked and subscribed!

Thanks so much for walking through slowly. When I was at University we used IBM PCs. Remember those? Then over the next 27 years I have been busy with deployment after deployment. I revived my Windows PC. But Microsoft installed One drive After I had disabled it. They basically uploaded the entire hard drive and then wanted $119 for me to access my data. I'm done with windows forever I need to learn something new Thanks for your time I appreciate your video it was very informative I appreciate you

After iterating through so many Linux distributions, I finally settled on Mint (20.1). It is a superb Linux distro; perfect for folks just getting into Linux.

I love these beginners guides. They would have really helped when I first got into Linux.

Thank you. Left you a comment yesterday about not being able to install via USB (or DVD) but finally managed tonight through another tutorial by creating partitions. Used this video to finalize the installation 🥳 I will probably be here more often now! Have a good one 🍀

Thanks Jay, I was having terrible trouble with Windows10 after something as simple as a power cut. It simply would not boot, wouldn't recover etc. total mess. Moved to Linux Mint, and recovered my system, won't be looking back. Nice and fast, no product keys or endless commercial verification.

A great introduction to this distribution. The only thing I can advise you to even make your opinions for who they are the best (beginners / advanced / etc)?

I use IMGBurn for ISO on Windows and Brasero on Linux Mint. For USB I use Rufus on Windows and USB Disk Image Writer on Linux Mint.

For what it's worth, I tried out both Mint and Zorin. I have a big preference for Mint. It's much more communicative than Zorin, and therefore easier to learn and use.

I am new user of Linux Mint. I have learned a lot from your tutorial. Would appreciate if you can also make a video on 'How to resat to factory setting of Mint'.

Also if you are a UK DVD user then there seems to be a copy of mint on most good linux magazines.

I was at my local newsagent looking for my favourite monthly tabletop magazines, and saw them. I have to say it took me back to the i486 days of hunting down CD drivers because you had formatted your HDD and forgot to back up CD drivers to floppy.

I'm running Cinnamon on SSD and taking a first look at Mate (installed couple days ago in French to get some extra practice with my mother tongue) on a mechanical drive. I don't install 3rd party by default to avoid Flash.
