STOP Worrying About FORCED BitLocker Encryption on Windows 11
In this video, I'll show you everything you need to know about the automatic BitLocker device encryption that will take effect in Windows 11 24H2.
Microsoft is reportedly forcing BitLocker encryption on you in Windows 11 24H2 and that has caused some concerns about Windows users losing access to their data if they're unaware that it's being encrypted.

That's why I'll also show you how to backup and find your BitLocker recovery key so you can use it to unlock the BitLocker encrypted drive in Windows 11.
Also, if you want to completely prevent BitLocker from encrypting a drive, I'll show you how to disable the forced BitLocker encryption during the Windows 11 installation process.

📌Are you using BitLocker to encrypt your data or not?

When someone encrypts my files without my permission it's called Ransomware. I've been using Microsoft OS since DOS. I'll use Win 10 as long as possible. If/when forced to move to Win 11 It will be time to move all of my PCs and servers to Linux.

What is the point of encryption like this when Microsoft and governments have backdoors to unlock it?

the problem with this is it is not only a complete and utter middle finger to people who have tons of shit that would have to be set back up because of this, but b bitlocker is KNOWN for getting corrupted on occasion which makes you have to facytory reset everything completely, additionally for the typical use there is absolutely no need for data encryption, if i have something that needs protecting it stays on my portable drive that has bitlocker, but normal use case individuals have no need to secure their files in this way, seriously need there to be a alternative to microsoft that is not linux soon because this is not the first unacceptable thing they have tried to push on consumers wince introducing windows 11

24H2 is way different build then 23H2 lots of open source tools modify task bar or modify iso like ntlite plus just mounting drive and installing windows also not working. Lots of things are changing in 24H2

Currently, my hard drive data is locked. If I try the last method without entering the Microsoft account, will it be unlocked? Because I am trying to change the password and the code does not reach me.

question, i'm on 22h2 and i'm being asked to update to 23h2, i've been using this PC for a while, will that mean the bitlocker will be enabled when i update my PC? or does it have to be if its my first time using it?

They will disable Windows mixed reality as well with this update. So I can throw my HP reverb G2 headset into the bin….

Another way is to not bother with Windows 11 at all. I bought a Windows 11 laptop and upgraded it to Windows 10. When they release 12 I'll sit back with my XP, Win7, Server 2003, and Win10 machines and LAUGH.

And as soon as you lose your key or the flash drive you put the key on gets corrupted, you're screwed.
Encryption is NOT a good idea and should never be used unless you have vital vital info ie: gov/state info, gov/state machines.
A nirmla regular user should NOT have a y reason what so ever to use or be using encryption. If you're THAT the paranoid about your family photos or avg user stuff, then you have bigger issues than just using encryption.

ANYONE forcing your avg user to have to use encryotion is just insnity.

Explain encryption to your 2yr old, or your grand partent, or even your parents, my guess is they will have no clue what your even talking about.

At 30+ yrs of pc's I've only had one time ever in all the pc's that I've ever jad a need for encryption and they worked for a local lolice dept.

People need to stop being so paranoid. You're more than willing to give your info freely to apple, google, ms, etc, then get all paranoid about "omg we gotta have encryption, because god forbid they may get the pictures of my dog" 🤦

This whole forcing encription is a HUGE mess in the making. People are going to lose info, bussiness will lose inportant stuff because it's inevitable, people will lose the keys either by forgetting where they put the key or becuase said key was on said device and that device is not corruted or bad. HUGE mistake.

How about leave it like it is currently and let the u-s-e-r make tje choice to encrypt or not, what a novel idea!

It is time for a class action lawsuit. CORRECTION: Should have happened already.
