How to pack for a moderate day hike. I’ve been using this bag for a few months now and I like it because it’s smaller and more lightweight than my typical daypack. I plan on getting a mountain bike this year and the front pouch fits a helmet! Plus it’s an affordable option. (A D)

• Reusable pee cloth
• First aid: Leukotape for blisters wrapped around a lighter to save space
• Hand sanitizer
• Tweezers incase of ticks on my dog
• Sit pad
• Collapsible dog water dish
• Rechargeable headlamp
• Sunscreen
• Power bank
• Water filter
• Snacks
• Dog water bottle
• Bivy Satelite Messenger
• Bear spray

I highly recommend buying a poncho/tarp shelter for emergencies if you end up getting stuck for a night or two waiting for rescue or even if you just get stuck in the dark or a freak storm and need to wait until morning to find the trail. Onewind makes a great poncho/tarp shelter for only $33 dollars. It’s 7.7 oz and when in the stuff sack it’s a bit smaller than the size of a tall-boy can. Also highly recommend bringing a few emergency blankets (the space blankets with one side being safety orange) You can use them as a tarp as well but they’re best used as blankets or heat reflectors for a fire. Both are small and cheap enough to warrant bringing them. You don’t need them until you do, and when you do you will be VERY glad you have them. Also ALWAYS carry a water filter even on short hikes. You never know who you may encounter who is in desperate need of water or if you need clean water for first aid. 🤙🏻 advice from your local, friendly WFR.

i just trained my dog to drink from hydration tube sprinkles. he is pretty good and doesnt waste much :D

Where did you get your reusable pee cloth? I usually take a toilet roll with a plastic bag to throw away the tp once I'm back home

Bear spray attracts bears more than it deters them. Not to mention, in an encounter, the bear spray would aggravate the bear even more. Best advice, never bring bear spray. Use a 9mm handgun, if not, don't bring any sprays of any sort

Im 23 and ive never been on a real hike on a count of me living in a big city and not knowing anyone who hikes. However ive always wanted to ho, ive just akways been to scared to go alone. How did you get stared? Did you just dicide to go on yiur own or did you used to go with your parents as a kid? Ik a lot of people who hike in their adult years started as kids with theri families.

My mom and sister have Lyme disease from ticks. Are you ever concerned about that? They said one tick bite should be treated with doxycycline antibiotics to prevent chronic Lyme. Great videos!

I'm sorry but there is no reusable pee cloth if you wipe with what's you've whipped before and there's pee on it you'll get a UTI

What brand are your pants? The bladder is really only good for a day hike or a bike ride IMO. Too much hassle otherwise.
