Monarchy VS Republic Debate

In today's world, almost every nation is clearly labeled as either a monarchy or a republic. However, the differences between these two systems have evolved significantly over time. While monarchies were once symbols of old-fashioned privilege and aristocratic oppression, and republics represented visions of liberty, equality, and fraternity, this distinction has become less clear-cut in modern times.

The primary difference between a monarchy and a republic today lies in their outward form and historical association.

Monarchies represent dynastic succession and the continuity of traditional values, while modern republics often reflect the absence or rejection of these elements at some point in the past. However, even these definitions are not without exceptions and blurred lines, making a clear division between the two systems hard to identify from a functional standpoint.

In any case, it is essential to recognize that both systems have merits and drawbacks, and that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to governance.

Nations must continually assess and adapt their political systems to best suit the needs and values of their citizens.

👑The Monarchist Channel is exploring the history of monarchies as well as status of monarchism in the World today.

This is a pan-monarchist channel, which means it does not focus on one country or one royal family or one monarchial tradition alone but on the world-wide monarchist cause.

On this channel we will refrain from taking sides in major dynastic disputes, because the hope is to unite monarchists rather than divide them. In France, for example, the monarchist cause has long been bitterly divided between the supporters of the “Legitimists”, “Orleanists” and “Bonapartists”. We don't do that here.

I also invite non-monarchists for a healthy and open-minded debate.

Enjoy the channel and I look forward to speaking to you in the comment section!

An absolute monarchy and constitutional monarchy are TOTALLY different things.

A republic is ironically have some similarities to an absolute monarchy because it's a one mans state.
Where the leader has both the biggest power and social status of the entire country

A constitutional monarchy has actually two leaders. The pm who wields power, and the monarch who wields the head of state and it's representation of the nation but has no power.

I don't understand people who say monarchies are expensive they say this even though politicians are taking more from us than the royal family would, and also I don't see whats wrong with dynastic succession.

Monarchies can be good (Japan) or terrible (Saudi Arabia) and republics can also be good (USA) or terrible (China). This alone is enough evidence for me that no one system of government is so far inferior that it would be abolished globally.

Even in Democracy monarchy exists in a different form. Political parties are completely under the control of one family whose members inherit the party leadership after the death of the leader of the party.

Here n the UK, they arrest anti-monarchists if the police think there's going to be public protest. They generously allow you to be an anti-monarchist, so long as you never mention the fact. That's British democracy at its finest. </sarcasm>

0:34 Lmao, in a Republic, almost always half the population votes and the vote is almost always 52-48% and people vote on habit / social identities.

In a monarchy, always +95% of people agree that either the king is very good or very bad, and bad kings have much shorter reigns almost always.

I can't think of a way I could be more wrong than to say that a Republic is the system of government where people are least divided.

I am Filipino, and I prefer the monarchy, rather than the republic that still exists in the Philippines. I am one of those who dream that the Philippines will move to a monarchy, we will have our own king or emperor and queen or empress, and to fix the rotten, dirty and chaotic Philippine politics; and for the Filipinos to unite instead of being divided just because of different political beliefs.

YES TO PHILIPPINE MONARCHY! 🇵🇭👑

Democratic Constitutional Monarchy (Kingdom/Empire of the Philippines)

Head of State: Monarch (King/Emperor or Queen/Empress)
Head of Government: Prime Minister (elected by the people)
Legislative: Senate & Parliament (elective senators & parliament members)
Local Government: Province (headed by the elective governor) & Municipality/City (headed by the elective mayor), with Barangay (headed by the elective captain/chairman)

Republic and Tyranny

Republics can have dynasties, and monarchies can be elective and reign for a limited time. Republican regimes have also had typically monarchical institutions so… The only thing that differentiates one from the other is the Crown, one more institution in the Republic and Tyranny that transforms it into a monarchy and its role can be absolute or merely ornamental.

For me, honestly, monarchy does not exist. There are republics and tyrannies, crowned or not.
