One simple thing folks need to remember is an old fashioned can opener. If no power, you need one to open the cans. Not all have lid tabs.

Canned ham is the only thing I never think to purchase, thanks for the reminder.

After the coming hard times, everyone who survives will become a prepper, just like everyone who survived the Great Depression.

If you could get together with a few friends, buying a side of beef from the farmer is the way to go.

One of my very BEST shelf stable proteins in my prepper pantry is Spam! I get the Great Value brand at Walmart, which is over a dollar a can cheaper, and we can not tell the difference. It lasts 4-5 years (or more) and we love it. If you think you don't like it, then chunk it, and fry it up with potatoes and add cheddar cheese on top. We also love it fried with eggs or scrambled eggs. Just a reminder that peanut butter does not last long term, so be sure and check the expiration date in your pantry. It is a fat, and goes rancid. Thanks for sharing all of your wonderful ideas for proteins. God Bless!

I would suggest canned chili which has both beef/turkey and some beans it. Also, if peanut butter counts, I think REESE'S counts, too!! 🍫🥜 On that note, protein bars, powders and drinks are shelf stable if you bought them as shelf stable (not the kind you buy in the refrigerated section of the store).

Our family loves potted meat and deviled ham spread. We use it when we are out of fresh meat for sandwiches. It's a good item to stock if your family likes it.

Spam is quite versatile too and is also good if you like spam.

Jinne. Would you consider doing a video on each of the items you talked about and show us how to use it? I think many people don’t know how to use canned meats.

I was able to buy those 1# cans of ham for $3. My son actually bought 6 of them for me. They're good to cut into chunks & ad into beans or we even eat it in mac-n-cheese. Diced up with eggs for breakfast. I have my own chickens. I get the senior food boxes. There is always p-nut butter, canned chicken or canned tuna in them. Plus lots of pasta & the qts of shelf stable milk. Thanks for shariing.

Another great reminder! I need to get canning again soon, we’ve used up most of the meat I’ve canned as well as the cranberry juice!❤🇺🇸

Thank you love your video’s. You’ve given me so many ideas. My son came up to spend a week with me. He’s an eye roller he saw I didn’t have much in my frig and cabinet. I have all my preps hidden.😆 he went to the grocery store and couldn’t believe the prices I hope sooner rather than later he will realize he needs to prepare. He 50 .I do what I can for him and my 26 yr old grandson.
