Skyrim 2023 - Fullly modded/ Vanilla comparison | RTX 4090 | 600+ Mods

For a game that technically came out in 2011, it's still one of the best looking games if you take the time to mod it! This is a simple little video showing how much you can transform the game if you try hard enough!!

I started this little project more than a month ago, trying to make Skyrim look at good as possible with all the new features and mods that have released. I started with S.T.E.P as a base and quiclky realized that it was not enough for me. After that, I got to work on finding my own mods and discovered I had a long journey of conflict-resolution I ahead. After a long time modding I can be happy with the outcome.

The World overhaul is great, especially the lighting system (GI+Shadows).
But I think that the old water seems more realistic.

Thanks, this was so great to see and brings back many memories. Loving the mod(s) that make the forests more dense and lush. Looking at this I can't help but to appreciate how good the original game also looks even though it was released so long ago.

Wow looks incredible. Yet it doesn't look like Skyrim. I think what a lot of these mod lists miss is the widespread conifers and coldness of certain parts of the tundra. Most of these mods make all of Skyrim look like a nice warm place to be with tree species that don't quite fit. I think it works for the Riften area but for the other parts there needs to be more pines and everything needs to "look" a little colder even if in reality that isn't what it would look like. I do love the increased density of stuff though. Like street lanterns, more packed tree's, more buildings in the cities, etc. Anyways, don't listen to my babbling, who knows wtf I'm talking about. Enjoy your modded stuff! :)

I can only imagine how much VRAM this uses. Looks incredible tho. I've never played Skyrim. Didn't tickle my fancy but, I'll look into it.

By chance, do you know if the Interesting NPCs mod is comparable with any city overhaul mods? I’d really like to make Skyrim feel completely new!

damn. only thing that comes close to a transformation like this is minecraft Java with RT shaders, chronos is literally a renderer on-par with blender running using software. modding community is nuts.

I can't help but feel like the mods take away from the games art style and visual identity. vanilla skyrim looks like skyrim at the veryfirst glance, the modded one feels less distinct.
But it is still impressive.
