Dr. Tom I used to work (feeding cows) in freezing weather and I would buy ski socks with insulated shoes. They are expensive but boy do they work. Although I live in Calif. I have never skied in my life. Ski socks helped my dad with poor foot circulation. When winter wanes there are many sales on winter clothes. Thanks for the advice and merry Christmas.

My counter remedy is to routinely allow my feet to be cool or even a bit cold - for periods of time, sometimes for several hours, possibly all day, provided I don't feel too cold.
This controlled cold discomfort maybe a therapy that conditions my feet capillaries to respond appropriately to cold conditions. Hands also.

I believe I am training my feet to be able to warm up by improved blood flow. I often will wear sandals with no socks down to 5°C all day (41°F). Below this I need socks and shoes or boots.
On the flip side if I wear socks and shoes I often feel hot feet discomfort. Similarly at night I need to stick my feet out from under covers to keep them cool while sleeping.
I think it may be beneficial (at least for me) to have my feet experience both cold and warm periods of time, thereby maintaining my body's ability to temperature control by capillary blood flow. In our modern world we are always in a state of relative thermal comfort by use of space heating and clothing. Throughout history how have humans adapted to their environmental thermal conditions? Similar to getting cold ears after going out to cold temperatures - a few minutes later my ears will be very warm to the touch.

I have been susceptible to Raynaud's episodes for a few years now, I am a 62 yr male. Living in Canada.
I am doing many of the lifestyle, diet and supplementations suggested. My Raynaud's events are reducing in frequency and intensity over the past 2 years.
I'm certain this is real Raynaud's as evidenced by white fingers and associated pain. This pain can prevent me from doing various cold weather tasks such as chopping wood or shoveling snow.
If I have a painful Raynaud's event I certainly seek warmth to reduce the pain, which usually subsides quite rapidly.

I often experience a Raynaud's episode while walking my dog in the early morning cold <0°C even while wearing gloves. This will subside in a few minutes of continued brisk walking.

It sounds like you live in Michigan like me. I’m in the Detroit area and I’ve been having this issue for a couple years. Yes I smoke and I drink beer. It’s not as easy to quit smoking as you would think beer I could quit, but I haven’t chose to yet. I’ve been thinking about it.

He mentioned immersing in warm water during a Raynaud’s attack, when you can’t do that, I found a hot water bottle to be very effective too. Especially in bed (plus then my cat comes & sleeps on it so then I get double the warmth 🤣)
Thanks SO much for the AMAZING video!! 🤩

My toes developed blue stripes, but yesterday I took my Magnesium glycerinate in the morning and the blue went away. Cinnamon stopped my fingers from turning white.

I have the opposite. Erythromelalgia. too hot too much blood flow. My hands and feet get red and the temperature increases to the point of it being very uncomfortable. Do you know of any treatment for that?

According to Dr Eric Berg it is related to diabetes and peripheral neuropathy. I agree with him. Just go on Keto and intermittent fasting. That is what I am doing.

What if it effects any part of your body that’s exposed, the pain mostly then anything and look sickly, even though I’m just freezing. I always say if my neck is cold or exposed to the cold or I drink something super cold my throat gets restricted. Super annoying. People always say I just need to get fat on my body but I was once obese and the cold was excruciating then too. Of course my toes nose ad fingers feel it the most. I have no hand strength. I can’t turn a key and if I’m wearing bulky gloves it’s hard to do to. It’s terrible to the point where I wish I could move and so now I’m looking for answers. I’m physically active, super healthy overall. This is the one thing the cold intolerance that is crippling. Sometimes it take several hours before I feel normal. It’s exhausting to. 😢I don’t know if that’s the same thing or what but the doctors just tell me I’m too thin. Which clearly is not the case since I’ve been like this since I was 8 is had was like this when I was morbidly obese.
