Raynaud's Phenomenon

There are two types of Raynaud's:

1) Primary Raynaud's — this is the most common form and the cause is usually unknown.

2) Secondary Raynaud's — this is less common than primary Raynaud's, but this can be related to an underlying condition. Usually autoimmune connective disease disease (e.g. lupus, scleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis, and others).

Taking certain medications can also trigger Raynaud's. Culprits include beta blockers, some migraine medications, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder medications, some chemotherapy agents, estrogen, birth control, and over-the-counter cold medications that constrict blood vessels.

I always thought everyone's body did that; just the blood being pushed out of the way from the pressure you put on the spot.

My lupus is usually dormant without medication but occasionally comes out of dormancy and has to be treated with immune suppression medication or steroid. Could this be why my lips turn blue when I'm in the shower even though the water is hot?

This happens to my toes and sometimes fingers when they get chilled. Have to run them under warm water or on a heater to get the blood moving again. Feels horrible...numb. I don't have it as extreme as in the pics.

My lips turn pale blue/purple when I'm in the shower even though the water is warm or hot. ??? Autoimmune like lupus?
