I don't like how everyone phrases this as a meme ban, because it's so much worse than that. It gives people the wrong impression as if it's a small thing that will only affect a small part of the internet but it will do so much worse than what is even discussed here. This wont benefit the large corporations in the long run, in fact it will most likely screw them over as a lot of music and films will get less publicity either due to the lack of content creators getting the word out if they are lucky, at worst social media platforms will decide it's not worth dealing with the E.U. and will simply cease operations there, resulting in millions of dollars in lost revenue for everyone involved and will likely screw over the entire internet as a whole.

This is aboslutely terrifying. My entire life is the internet, the internet helped in constructing who I am today, if it's all taken away, then who am I anymore? I would lose the ability to be joyful, a lot of things I would usually enjoy would be reduced to faint memories. Not to mention, my anxiety is through the roof, no, through the entire solar system over this. I am trying so hard not to have a panic attack at the moment. If it is not broken, then do not fix it. Instead, focus on the actual problems in life, don't take away someone's reason to live for a little and unneccessary reason. Work on giving people more reasons to live, more reasons to feel safe in a hellish world like this, more reasons to BE THEMSELVES. The internet is who we are. Destroy it's content for "copyright" issues, and then you destroy BILLIONS of peoples lives, hopes, and dreams. Don't fix something that isn't broken.

Edit: I don't live in the EU, but some people I watch live there, and if those people get their channels demonitized, I wouldn't be able to watch anymore of their videos. I don't wanna lose who and what helped make me who I am today.
