Hardest part is when your chain of command sees your increased tolerance and coping skills as an invitation to increase the steam and toxicity, like it's some kind of tug-of-war.

Awesome presentation of solid information, Dr Harry ☆☆☆☆☆ I left a toxic workplace almost two years ago - utterly burned out after two years of trying to change an ignorant chain of command and toxic culture. For the past two years, I have been trying to rebuild a support network (takes time), I try to do enjoyable activities every day (some days, I just go through the motions sans feelings), and reach out to helplines regularly (plus I watch your posts :-). One of my better decisions 12 months ago was to subscribe to Rocky A.I. Mindset Coaching because hearing positive feedback and reading empowering articles twice/day really helps fight against the disempowerment that accompanies burn out. Sending strength to anyone reading this and thanks again for your guidance, Dr H. Hold fast xD

I used tothink that what I went through was more of a "kick-the-dog" syndrome. My parents, both in the service and now veterans, would come and abuse the absolute shit out of us as little kids. Constant screaming, slapped across the face, etc. Either that or the silent treatment and constant quiet stewing at me. My mother said she retired from the air force because she had me. I felt like I was always blamed for that. I thought maybe it was the military and a toxic work environment but idk anymore. They've shown sadistic tendencies, but everyone thinks they're incredibly wonderful because of their military image and the profession they're in because it gives them a martyr complex. Sigh. Why were they so nasty man. I think it's just them now, independent of being in the military or not. I'm an adult now, judt healing as best I can.

Best thing to do is just stay quiet and wait for them to PCS. Rank is everything in Army and best thing is to stay away from them 😮

If you're a business owner do NOT hire anyone who served more than contract and shows signs of refusing to reintegrate. They will RUIN your business.
