The idea of hammerheads being afraid of bubbles is the cutest thing ever

"hammerhead sharks don't like the bubbles..."

adorable. why is this so adorable.

I love that she straight up says "unlikely" or "probably not" when she encounters some weird scenarios instead of "that absolutely does not happen ever, at all". Nature is no stranger to "unlikely" or "improbability" and I really appreciate it when scientists respect that.

The fact that hammerhead sharks are afraid of bubbles makes me a lot less ashamed of my fear of the dark.

"you don't have to be afraid of an ocean full of sharks, you should be afraid of an ocean without them" THIS WAS SO SWEET I LOVE YOU

Still waiting for “serial killer reacting to horror movies”

I love that she describes Bruce as a "big boy" in the same tone someone might talk about a dog

My biggest issue with shark movies is that the shark always spends a lot of energy trying to get the human. I’ve never heard of any animal spending more energy than it’s meal gives it.

"ugh thousands of dollars straight to the ground" as someone who's studying marine biology, I feel that

"You're throwing dead animals into the ocean, what did you think was gonna pop up? Flipper?" 😂
I already love her!

As a person who also loves sharks and tries to educate everyone I know about them and how essential they are to our ecosystem, I love her closing line. "You shouldn't be worried about an ocean filled with sharks. Instead, you should be worried about an ocean without them."

"it's not the shark that you see that's sometimes the problem, it's sometimes the one you DON'T see"

Marine Biologist: You can't touch a shark without hurting your skin.
Me: I want to pet the forbidden toothy sea doggo

When someone says "it's unfortunate that The Megalodon isn't around anymore", you know they're truly passionate for science and research.

Crocodiles are terrifying, I’ve watched a couple of salt water crocodile attack stories recently and not many people survive them. Glad she’s ok 👍🏻.

Me: gaining comfort in the idea of sharks not being as terrifying
Her: "Sometimes it's not the one you see you have to worry about, it's the one you don't see"
Me: 🏃‍♀️ so much for that

The fact she didn’t react to Sharknado is very disappointing. One of the most accurate and realistic films out there

I like her explanation because she is not like: “this is so dumb and this isn’t what you will ever see!” And she’s just like explaining what’s real and fake and even if it’s fake she’s enjoying the scene.

This Lady has to be my favorite expert on this show so far! She clearly seems to have a vast amount of knowledge and experience, yet she still is smart enough to not claim to perfectly know every possibility.

"Always swim with a buddy". Yes. 100%. Preferably a buddy that swims slower than you.
