Homemade Pizza Crust (Dough) from Scratch - Easy Recipe

Here is a recipe that I've been using for years now for my own homemade pizza crust from scratch! Don't be intimidated by making it at home. It's so easy and is the best crust there is! This is the same crust used in my pepperoni pizza video from a few years back. Enjoy!

What you'll need:
3/4 cup warm water (about 100*F)
2 Tbsp granulated sugar
1 tsp active dry yeast
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp olive oil
2 cups all-purpose or plain flour
additional oil for greasing

In a large bowl, combine water and sugar and sprinkle yeast on top to re-hydrate. Don't use too hot of water or you will kill your yeast. After yeast is a bit foamy, add in salt, 1 Tbsp oil and flour. Mix well until it comes together to form a dough. Knead until smooth and all flour is incorporated and dough is no longer sticky, about 3 minutes. Grease a bowl with another tablespoon of oil, coat dough ball with oil and cover with a damp towel. Let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

To use, grease a pan with more oil, pat dough out using your finger tips to 14"-16" in diameter. Spread with sauce, top with cheese and toppings and bake in a preheated 450*F oven for 12-14 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cheese is melty. Makes (1) 16" pizza. Enjoy!!

The same exact recipe as my Nawny's ! She was Sicilian. You even nailed the process. So great to see an authentic pizza dough recipe ! You can use it to make Italian bread, stuffed bread loaves, or put cheese in the middle, fry them up for delicious cheesy stuffed bread balls. The ideas are endless !

I just took the pizza out the oven and it is literally gone.😳 I made a 16’ pizza. Your recipe was SO PRECISE with the measurements! Didn’t have to use a lot of dishes at all. Excellent recipe!! Will be making this all the time. God bless and stay safe👍🏼

This is the best recipe ever! :-) my husband and I enjoyed homemade pizza that I made today. I used my cast iron frying pan and made a deep dish. The bake time was about 4 minutes more(bcoz of the cast iron) My husband prefers thin crust pizza but when he tasted this.... we chowed-down LOL. Thank you! Delicious, delicious, delicious!😋😋😋🍕🍕🍕

Nice! A dough that doesn't require dragging out fancy heavy kitchen equipment (or more importantly, for those who don't HAVE fancy mixers and such) is always appreciated!

I made this last night after I had watched many videos on how to make pizza dough. The ingredents are perfect for one large pizza. Unlike other videos that make too much. It was very easy to make and if you follow his directions on spreading the dough on the pan it comes out perfect. I also like your voice, it's so relaxing.

Tried it! I recommend re-kneading the shaggy dough after a short rise and then leaving it rise properly. I got way smoother results this way.

I am someone who cannot make a good pizza dough to save my life. I came across this recipe and decided to try it. It was perfection. I thought to myself, it was probably luck. I need to try again. This time however, instead of making one ball, I made mini balls to make mini pizza and left it to raise as instructed. I thought I sure messed it up doing this. People "two thumbs up again"!! Thanks for this recipe!!! I’m very new in baking and my kids love the all-cheese pizza I made using this dough. My oven is tiny so I had to cut my dough into 2. Too thick still, next time I will cut into 3 😊😋 thanks again!!! Easy, delicious and fast!!! 👍🏼

Just wanted to chime in and say this is the perfect pizza dough recipe. I've made it a dozen times now. After I get it mixed I dump it on the counter and really go crazy kneading it for a good few minutes until it's really smooth. I also let it rise for 3 or 4 hours sometimes.
