Audio Interfaces and ASIO drivers in Live 8

When I connect my Behringer USB audio interface and then open my web browser (Firefox), it defaults to the ASIO driver automatically, regardless of what other ASIO enabled software is running (Ableton, Audacity etc).

What happens if you're on youtube (ASIO enabled) and then you open Ableton and try to set the audio preferences to ASIO?

When I use Asio, I can't use any other sound application than Ableton, only one at the time. So I can't be on youtube and ableton at the same time, is there a way around this?

When i check for audio device mine says Asio4ALL.. Isnt NME better than asio though?

There is none. Using asio only alow one audio application at the time. You can turn the audio driver off temporarely though, to watch a youtube clip or so but it's not that smooth. Just click the box at the right corner where it sais: "100% CPU" at times.

1 think that might work is "JACK", just google this: "jack audio connection kit". I did not manage to make it work but I think you might be able to use several apps at the same time using this program. Good luck!
