So he still hasn't been sentenced technically then right? Judge said they would delay to November 1st to hear more testimony but I doubt it will change anything.

Death penalty is defunct in most states that still have it. The executions take years to occur anyway because of mandatory SCOTUS appeals. Texas seems to actually carry out executions in a somewhat timely fashion at times but it’s hard for them as well. I think the victims who want to see punitive action are upset that death sentences take so long to carry out. I think it’s worse to be sentenced to LWOP because the guilty must exist in prison for the remainder of their “life”.
