Starting heel with gsd puppy

We're teaching our dog koda the heel command, starting from scratch without any prior pulling habits. We're using the 'follow' technique where the handler walks backwards and the dog follows, then transitioning to the handler walking forward and rewarding the dog for staying in the heel position. We're also working on building impulse control and practicing the stay command, which will eventually lead to a down-stay. Koda is a Shepherd dog who seems to really enjoy the training and is making great progress.
