If you're having issues with rates on 1.21 Java, move your AFK platform up about 30-35 blocks. I checked with a freecam mod and there were tons of hoglins spawning below the nether ceiling in the main part of the nether still when I was 90 blocks above the platform. 30-35 more blocks higher fixed the issue, improved the rates and now they all spawn up top on my farm platform (AFK spot: Y= 250-255)

EDIT: OK this farm is awesome. I built 4 layers (3 blocks of space in between each) after moving up the AFK spot and I added corner "bumpers" on the 2 front corners of every layer so they can't push each other off sometimes (4 blocks each direction from each 2 front corners with slabs on top). Getting tons of porkchops and leather. Super efficient. Essentially the equivalent of using Looting III. 1056 leather/hr (16.5 stacks), 6, 354 cooked porkchops/hr (~100 stacks)

Extremely easy farm to build. Bring some extra building blocks (I ran out). Put a fence perimeter around the outside of the platform so Hoglins don't push each other off. AFK at like 255 instead of what they do in the video for better rates (so there are no spawns below the nether ceiling). Build the farm a bit higher (I did mine about 24 blocks off the ground) so you have more room for storage! Finding a Crimson Forest: Easiest way is to find one below the nether ceiling, mark the coordinates, then go to the nether ceiling and go to those coordinates. Amazing farm and so simple. Definitely worth it for an easy food and leather source.

All you need to fix this farm in 1.18 is use slabs covering the hoppers instead of trapdoors. Mojang slightly changed the hitbox of baby hoglins in 1.18.

for everyone still commenting asking if this works and/or if you can stack the farm. THe answer to both of those questions is YES! still works just fine in 1.17.1, the only thing to be wary about is the lava doesn't kill the babies unless you place slabe ontop of the hoppers at the bottom of the killing chamber. Also stacking this farm one layer on top of the other works just fine, i have 5 layers on mine and it works great!

used some comments to make it work in 1.19.2 and all i did was replace trap doors with slabs and afk at 100 blocks insted of 90 and it works amazing tysm

I just finished building on java, it works great, but I needed to change it a bit.
The hoglins were running off the edge of the platform instead of going into the lava, so I built a wall around it, 1 high with slabs on top. I also noticed the baby hoglins were not burning when standing on the trapdoors, so I replaced the trapdoors with slabs and it works great. Great farm, SUPER EASY to build, and GREAT RATES!

For 1.20 if you're having issues with hoglins falling off the platform, place fences around the farm, this prevents them falling. (you will not need to raise the afk platform if you do this)

Tip - if you put campfire down instead of lava, you get raw pork and then can do the trade from the butcher villager for 7 raw pork to 1 emerald. Make sure campfires are on top of the hoppers in order for the hoppers to grab the drops. Working in 1.19 Java

Answering the most common questions/issues:

Does it work in 1.19?
Yes, just replace the trapdoors with slabs or remove the lava and add campfires (will not grill your porkchops, but kill nonetheless)

Can i do more platforms?
Yes, you can add as many as you want, but after 10-15 platforms, portal based farms become more efficient.

I get Piglin/Zombie Piglin spawns!
Light up the platform with torches so the light level on it is above 11, this prevents them from spawning.

Some baby hoglins hide next to the wall.
Replace the wall with solid blocks, works just the same.

Can i build it below the bedrock?
Yes, but spawn rates will be heavily nerfed unless you spawnproof everything in a 198 block sphere.

Can i use another block?
You can use any solid block except Magma blocks. Don't use wood near the lava for obvious reasons.

Some fall out the farm, what do i do?
Make a fence around it, or make a wall of glass.

Lava burns my items!
This is to be expected, the farm is not completely lossless. You can either make the first platforms a few blocks higher and add 3 lava blades with 2 blocks of headspace between the last blade and the dropper, or use campfires and grill the pork in furnaces (set up an item filter and a furnace array + carpet duper). The loss is negligible though, you'll get enough even with some items burning.

But you can put a minecart with hopper and replace lava on magma blocks (or wither roses). You will make a raw meat afk farm. As I remember, villagers that work with smoker are not sales emeralds for cooked meat.
