Moldovan/Romanian here. 🇲🇩
Russia meddled with us since 1812 when they first broke us off from the Principality of Moldova, which is now part of Romania. We are ethnically Romanian, and re-unified with it again in 1918 after WW1 when the Russian Empire crumbled. The USSR did not recognize this reunion and treated us as their property, invading Romania in 1940 and conquering us again.
Repression, exiles, genocide, cultural genocide, forced starvation, a vast program of de-Romanifing us. This imperial obsession with our land was the main Russian justification for intervening-creating the separatist conflict in Transnistria in 1992...to prevent us from re-unifying with Romania again. It...unfortunately succeeded. But history is a fickle thing, and this empire already collapsed two times, and the cracks are showing up for a third time.
So yeah nah...Russia still sees us as their rightful property, as their soon to be vassals. My great-great grandfather waited all his life for the Romanian army to return and free us from the Soviet genocidal boot.
We're merely starting to wake up ourselves now. Slowly, but surely.

Something similar happened in January 1918.
Moldova was a part of Russia Tsarist Empire but when tsar Nicolae the second abdicated Ukraine and Moldavia became independent countries.
In January 1918 Lenin wanted to spread communism in Moldova and wanted to incorporated it in the new USSR.Lenin supported a communist coup in Chisinau through communist agents in Moldova but Moldova requested help from Romania and Romania army defeated the communist threat in Moldova.After that on 27 March 1918 Moldova accepted to be a part of Romania.

Ok, one thing you didn't mention in any of your videos is how would Romania react to the invasion of Moldova, because Romania might sent troops in Moldova if it was to be attacked by Russia which can start a bigger war if Russia enters in the teritory of Romania (which is a NATO country). Moldovians are our brothers and we won't let them fall!

It's actually not fully dependent on Russian gas anymore, beggining late 2022, it's on gas from Romania, Ukraine and other countries

I love your videos, but you failed to mention a huge aspect on this Moldova factor. The fact that 70% of the country is ethic Romanian and there have been talks of unification with Romania multiple times and votes in the last 15 years. Romania is much stronger economically and strategically had nothing to gain from loosing a buffer state however and taking on a poor countries economy. But if it comes down to it, Romania might be forced to act to protect its 70% ethnic Romanian speaking population of Moldova. With or without NATO. The Romanian army is pretty modern having served next to allied forces in iraq and Afghanistan for 20+ years and with 100k men ready to go without a mobilization.

Moldova should just invite Romania to steamroll Transnistria with mechanized infantry division. Vaporize the first 100 Transnistrian soldiers and all their Russian agents and the rest of them will suddenly become model Moldovan citizens.
