I’ve lived the credit card lifestyle and have now been credit card free for years. I am at peace now and my life is so much easier. I will never go back to credit cards again. Thank you Rachel and Dave.

Have 5 credit cards. Working on paying off my last one. Then no more credit cards!

Yes!! Finally someone that shows the truth. Most people look at my husband and I like we have a third eye when we tell them we don’t own credit cards anymore.

This is the video that first made me question credit cards. Even before I knew about Dave Ramsey. The other videos in the series are great too.

I haven’t had a credit card in 20 years. I pay cash for my cars. I have tremendous peace of mind. 20 years ago I paid off my car and about $40k in credit card debt. So. Much. Stress. Gone. It took me about 5 years to pay it all off and I will not go back to that.

Back in the 1980s, I got a beautiful gold credit card in the mail on day. It was a carte blanche and dinner club. Well it was dual set. I thought I was a rich man. I went shopping and got a lot of things and some cash to.
About 6 weeks went by, I got a huge bill in the mail for over $4, 000 and it was due!
I had to sell a car and have a yard sale and borrow money at a local bank. I got it paid off but, never ever did that again 🤢

I had two friends who used to work for a very popular bank at one time. When they got married, the bank fired one of them because they said they embarrassed them because their credit score reflected badly on the bank when they were individuals it was acceptable, but once they became a married couple, it was an embarrassment.

I am mere weeks from being 100% debt free. Yes, that includes the mortgage. While it has taken us longer than some, we are finally arriving. I owe it to Dave Ramsey (and Rachel Cruze), for laying out, in plain English, how to do it, and why.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

PS - Eight years ago, we were able to get a 15-year mortgage with a fixed rate of 4.875%, with no credit score. No credit cards. We've paid extra principle with every payment, saving us thousands in interest. It can be done.

I have seen him before on videos, and he is very good. He's hilarious but at the same time telling the truth.

My mother owed on a credit card, and because there was no estate, the debt went away. They even had a collector call me and cuss me out. I told him there were no assets that he could touch and to go away. That's why, if a person owes credit card debt, they need to get rid of all assets before they die.

And if you don’t use a credit or debit card for a $2 purchase……..you are weird . I am weird 🤣

It’s 100% true. Sarcastic but VERY true. The banks are in on it as well with their easy credit loans. Lucky for me I have lots of equity. My loans keep getting smaller while my equity keeps rising. Hopefully in 2 years I’ll be out of debt & living comfortably.

I have ton of credit cards and I love it. $0 debt only spending part of my income based on my budget. Racking up points and going on free vacations. Believe it or not, it is not a scam if you know how to budget and control your spending habits.

I know a lot of people with only debit cards, going to church and saving best to their ability with nothing to show for it in their retirement funds. They have never left the state they live in.

Live your life the way it makes you happy people. It does not matter, nobody know how long you have. Just be conservative with your time and money. Don’t waste it.

While I agree with everything here, if your brain doesn't feel like money is leaving your account when using a cc, you may need some math lessons.

But if you budget…and actually stick to it.. using cash or credit card shouldn’t matter. You already have the money set aside on what it should be used on.

That whole thing of spending more with credit is only when you aren’t budgeting so you have no idea how much you are spending to begin with.

My wife and I use credit cards to pay for everything that we’ve budgeted for each more and not a penny more. We never carry a balance because once, again we only spend what we have budgeted for that month…..we make $110 each month in cash back and we move that to our savings.

I have witnessed it myself that if I use a CC then I do spend more. At least 15-20% more. I don’t know why and how. I use cash and debit card now and I can see the change in my budget. It’s fascinating.

This is the EXACT video I showed to my FPU coordinator and he loved it. I wonder if he forwarded it to you. Glad to see you reacting to it. You have got to show a clip of Dave Ramsey and the other personalities on the show react to it. I’d give ANYTHING to see that 😃

It's so true. When I pay with cash I feel the pain of it but when you use a card you don't feel anything until you get the bill at the end of the month and then realize how much you overspent! Cash is King.
