This is a country with no industry, no exports, no tourism, minimal economic development, and constant political turmoil. It can be regarded as a "Nothing Economy", as it has so little output to boast of.

This: is Comoros. A tiny archipelago sitting near Madagascar in the Indian Ocean.

Would have been interesting to mention that Anjouan Island Seceded from the Comoros in 1997 and immediately asked to be integrated back into the French Republic. Who declined. In 2022 they were integreted bach the Comoros and Anjouanese shave since been flooding Mayotte. In fact there are more Anjouaneses in Mayotte, (where the make up 40% of the population) than Mahoreses themselve (35%).

Comoros is poor but not as poor as some countries in subsaharan Africa. Its main exports are spices, cloves and vanilla, which brings it about 20 million dollars a year. It could rely more on tourism for hard currency, but it's conservative muslim culture frowns about going in that direction

Mayotte prefered France to Comoros even before colonisation. The ruler of Mayotte called France to colonise the island to have a protector that the rest of Comoros would not dare to attack.

Relying heavily on agriculture doesn't mean it's underdeveloped.
