Scotty. You’re an older gentleman. You should take a customers car to a shop and see what they think about it. Play dumb and see how much they can scam you out of. Then give an actual estimate to the person and make them feel stupid. I would love to see that

The crooked garage probably loosened the gas cap, they knew the check engine light would come on and then charge more money to fix that.

I had a shop give me a estimate on putting in New brake pads and shoes in a van (1987 Dodge) they wanted $1, 700 without even looking at it. I changed them myself at a total cost of $130.

Scotty is bullet proof. I've seen him go 80-90 yrs, no rust, no mechanical issues, no error codes. His arms move slower but what do you expect with that sort of mileage? He's no Keith Richards. But if you can find him cheap on youtube, go for it.

We have the exact same car Scotty. Down to the Color. Double the mileage of that one and it’s still going strong with minimal issues.

I work at a Toyota dealership. And I see some techs recommend replacing parts even tho the parts are still good and I feel guilty about it.

Its mechanics like that, that give all other mechanics a bad name. Its hard to trust anyone after you've been ripped off, even once. Need a channel on YT that calls out these mechanics. Start a long list and categorize by state to warn people.
