T.V. Mohandas Pai, Economist, expressed strong views in an exclusive conversation with India Today's Anagha on the Karnataka reservation issue. He criticized the recent steps as regressive and illegal, particularly condemning the definition of a local according to the bill as outrageous. Pai raised concerns about the potential impact on investment, citing corruption issues and the destruction of Kannada signboards. He emphasized the need for the government to prioritize skill development and higher education for locals to attract investments and retain industries like the EV sector. Pai praised MB Patil's efforts while questioning the effectiveness of current subsidies and benefits, advocating instead for focusing on improving skills and education levels among local residents. He criticized the lack of subsidies for startups and highlighted infrastructure challenges in Bangalore, including delays in the metro project and issues with KSRTC buses. Pai concluded by labeling the policy as regressive, anti-people, and fascist in nature.

The kind of increased hatred I can witness in Bengaluru since Congress came to power is quite visible in daily life. Companies will hire anyone who's fit for the role. Leave aside Northern India or Hindi people, Kannadigas should think why there are more Telegu people than Kannadigas in almost any office in Bengaluru. The reason is simple that they're way ahead in higher education than Karnataka. So, reservation, bringing hatred on linguistic basis won't take you anywhere. Disrespecting people who have worked hard and are contributing to the economy of Bengaluru is becoming a new norm just purely on linguistic basis. In offices, there's no such problems, all fellow Kannada understand this and there's no discrimination at all. But, on streets, the average crowd is full of hatred. Even an autowala, a fruit seller will treat you as if you have taken his job, he will be rude, will try to charge you higher. It's so frequent that IT people avoid street vendors and either go to grocery shopping in hypermarket only or will use swiggy, blinkit kinda options. Anyone from Telengana and Andhra are doing better at running shops because of what's happening. Just go to any region around an IT park or around colleges and you'll observe this.

Since my relocation to India, so far Bangalore is the only city which I found very comfortable and safe.

Most people talk in English, even in public transportation. Second there is no discrimination towards non Indians.

I extend a warm invitation to all investors to consider Andhra Pradesh as a lucrative destination for their business investments., Visakhapatnam represents the most promising option, and Andhra Pradesh urgently requires investments to spur economic growth.

Good opportunity for Uttar Pradesh, IT Companies already got remote work model setup after COVID-19. Yogi Baba is already trying to bring the corporations to U.P. to mitigate the employment issue among local youths.
