SI 5 - Inaugural session - Address by Chief Guest Sri Mohandas Pai

Swadeshi Indology conference-5 titled ‘Karnataka Shastriya Sangita - its past, present and future’ held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bangalore on 30th March 2019.
Sri Mohandas Pai discusses critical issues affecting our civilisation. Vividly highlighting the basic differences between Eastern and Western civilisations and how they have impacted the world over the centuries, he emphatically says that it is our Sanatana Dharmic philosophy that will prove to be the ultimate guide to the whole world. He goes on to explain how the socialist, communist and leftist ideologies have destroyed Indian economy, culture and well-being; how systematic attempts are being made to destroy Hindu civilisation; how history has been manipulated; how invaders are glorified and our greats are not even recognised and so on. He brings up the very important issue of appropriation and Christianisation of our cultural icons like Carnatic music and the misuse of the heritage of Carnatic music by some musicians for political purposes. He concludes by saying that it is highly imperative that we raise a voice against this appropriation, for which conferences like these are very important.

Great talk. Yet to listen to panelists speak.

My view -
issue is not Bible verses sung in Karnatic music,
issue is DENYING SANATHANA DHARMA roots of Karnatic music.

Sanathanies ok with “Ragupathy Raghava Raja Ram” sung in Kapaleshwarar Kovil, Chennai along with Thiyagaraja Krithis. Can the same be done in 1000lights mosque or Santhom Church? Sadly NO, and hence the need to protect Sanathani roots of Karnatic music
