6 Reasons Why Babies Cry

As a new dad one of the first things I had to figure out was what my baby was trying to tell me when he was crying. I spent many a sleepless night, going back and forth over the things I thought he wanted, only to try something else and VOILA he calms right down. I want to spare some of you the agony of the guessing game with this list of things your baby might be trying to say.

Enjoy and good luck!

You sir are impressive! What a dad! So knowledgeable, and clearly a very loving and attentive caregiver. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a man as capable with a baby as you are. I think it’s super cool that you are breaking down those societal gender stigmas to give your baby what he needs and to be the best father you can. Mad props!!!

This is honestly one of the most beautiful videos I've ever seen in my life. I choked up a bit at your pure gentleness.

Thank you so much! As a new dad I’ve been stressed burning the midnight oil with my son and not figuring out why he gets fussy now with eating, but when you said just keep feeding him, it matched my thoughts on it! My wife and I were worried he might eat too much but I’m glad someone like yourself confirmed it for me. Thank you lots man, this is gold!

I'm about to become a Dad in 10 weeks and got my first baby on way. Watching your video I feel has really helped me calm about the situation about crying and understanding it because it's the part I fear the most👍Great video and your baby is adorable... Hello, I recently had my 4th baby last month (sep 25) I have my oldest son 13, two daughters 11 & 4 and now this little amazing baby boy. This video was wonderful, I wish I could have watched this videos 13 years ago with my 1st & 2nd kids, I was younger and didn't have much experience. Babies can get very fussy when their needs are not being met. I really enjoyed watching your video and throughout was telling myself" Yes, your right ....Yup".

I know I am not perfect but I wished I knew what I knew now. With my new baby boy he would also cry a lot when he was younger and I always thought he was hungry. He would cry I would try to feed and he would push away, Never did I ever offer a pacifier to my other children but I thought he is sucking but spitting out the milk. When I introduced the pacifier to my baby right away I noticed the change his crying stopped, he wanted to be soothed. Why did I not think about offering it sooner? why didn't anyone tell me. I automatically remembered my daughter the now 4 year old and can still remember how much she would cry even after doing everything. The part I loved the month was the Gas topic you mentioned, My 4 year old has lots of gas tons! My 4rd baby cried a lot, she would grunt a lot and the pediatrician told me to give her liquid Xanax that was prescribed to her for reflex. We did give her the Xanax and within 4 months she got better. (is that what she really needed though)? She is now a happy 4 year old but when I think back from her birth-4months I get sad. I wish I would have offered her a pacifier or even tried to follow the steps you mentioned in your video. I respect all Pediatricians but sometimes I feel as if they don't fully explain or offer different teqiniques to help parents and baby.

Again, this time around with new baby boy he also starting to grunt within a couple weeks I noticed..it was GAS!!! from observing and trying everything I realized when he didn't burp after a feeding thats when the grunting would be nonstop. Mostly at bedtime-midnight i would try burping him but my baby would be knocked out asleep, he wouldn't burp and I would lay him back down. He would grunt for 2-4 mins and continued to until I picked him back up again. Frequently I would be so tiered but knew if he didn't burp it would be even longer of no sleep of connately hearing grunting and a fussy baby. Some days he would burp right away and other times it would take longer but when he eventually did he would be sound asleep. I also purchased some organic probiotics drops that are safe for everyday and noticed that helps.

Thank you for making this videos for parents who are in need of help. We can get frustrated and lose patience I would recommend everyone to watch this. Thank you again.

Awesome video! Love how straightforward and well explained your baby videos are. I thought your videos would just be goofy, but they’re actually real helpful. Thanks!!

Just a thought about the sleep part. I noticed the belly rub was rhythmic. I listened to a guy, once, who said that he learned to deal with his insomnia by doing a simple drumming with his hands. First slightly fast then gradually slowing down until he felt sleepy. He said that rhythm is the key. The brain needs to settle into the gentle rhythmic cycle of sleep. Our whole life is based on cycles and rhythm actually.
Anyway, it would seem that some sort of gentle rhythm, fast to slow, would calm the baby into a sleeping cycle.

I enjoyed the video and tips, even though I went through it already with my own son just 4 years ago. It’s awesome being a parent.
