Surely the more expensive SSD performs better, right? You'd be surprised- we tested CHEAP vs. EXPENSIVE SSDs to put this to rest...

Need full video going into why cheaper ssds are able to write and read faster

we need a full video, and highlight that what really matters is the random read

Something doesn't add up if it's a 512gb for 200 bucks and it's a Western Digital.

Let's see a labs video on how long various SSDs last!

For my work (programming), cache sizes on NVME SSDs have been super important. Samsung's 980 Pro has 2GB of DDR4 if I remember correctly, which is helpful for tasks like MSVC C++ compilation and IDE indexing, as editors like Jetbrains check symbol indexing on startup

Needed Samsung also, I have Evo and pro and would like this to be a full video

Aside from read write speeds, we need a video that mentions its lifespan too and I think that is measured by TBW? (Terabytes written).

My question remains unanswered lol hopefully an indepth video on ssd performance comes soon.

Full video on this topic please, would make it easier to also go back and see rather than a short.

That WD Black is the original older one from 2018, not to mention it was $200 sticker price back then. A flagship 500GB, even PCIe gen 4 costs less than half of that today. I know the format is meant to be short but it’s kind of misleading to compare a much older SSD at its price at launch(when SSD prices were definitely higher), I mean even taking the SN750 would’ve made more sense than the original WD Black

The WD Black PCIe SSD 512GB is a 5 year old SSD from 2017 that has 2017 pricing.
WD sell a 1TB ssd that has twice the speed and and for half the price. Take a look at the
WD Black SN850X

I’d like a video all about how the DRAM cache actually works in depth.

That 'expensive' drive is literally 5 years old and was considered a bad option even when it was released. Don't mislead people like this...

The “$200” SSD is the WD Black 512gb gen3. For WAY less then that ($99) you can get the Samsung 980 pro gen 4 which will blow this Crucial out of the park.
No no no, I believe we see the power of a channel sponsor shining through here.

Expensive SSDs probably use SLC whereas the cheaper ones make use of 3D NAND.

KC3000 1tb at a great price at my place 139SGD(97USD) a gen 4 6000mb speed

Your ‘$200 SSD’ isn’t $200 though is it? You’re using a gen 3 drive from 2017. Stick an actual $200 drive like the SN850 or Firecuda 530 in there and suddenly your conclusions are different.

Full length video on this as all of us has always wondered what the additional cost is for “higher end” SSD’s when all we use then for is gaming or day-to-day work.

Buying expensive SSDs are not necessarily for the speed performance but for the quality of the RAM chips on it, and whether they have DRAM cache in case of unexpected shutdown, then for the warranty.
