Anyways, my thoughts are that we're beyond the need for dealerships. All we really need them for nowadays is to test drive their vehicles, thats it. Nothing more. Dealerships are super predatory and always make car buying a massive headache. We dont need them as a society anymore.

Stealerships as some like to call are extremely predatory when people can transfer and do sales on their own just fine. They either need to be reformed with transparency and integrity, or thrown away for something new.

Car dealerships are part of what's causing the high prices we're seeing today, acting as unnecessary middlemen who mark up vehicles. Tesla has proven there's a better way to sell cars directly to consumers.

I mean the first reason you would want to have a physical dealership is so you can actually test drive the car to see how it fits the feels you are looking for. I could see why Bugatti or ferarri or tesla probably don't need dealerships meanilyk because if you are buying one of those you probably already had your mind set on getting a specific car regardless of driving experience. With Bugatti or ferrari you buy the car because you wanted a Bugatti or ferrari not because you needed a comfortable driving car. You could've gotten a honda if that was the case.

If i could import a Honda s660 straight from them into the states without any dealership, 3rd party fees, etc etc the world would be a better place.

If I go to toyota's website and see a new GR86 sale price as $32, 000 then I should be able to buy the car for that price. If you have to go through a dealership to get it you can garuntee you will be paying more then that. The only dealerships I believe still help are the ones that take the Hassel out of importing a vehicle from another country like Japan.

Sales department is trash cars are overpriced there robbing people lol but the service department and parts department are very important for small shops, and keeping peoples cars on the road I live in GA Troncalli Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealer is one of the biggest parts hubs in the south place like that have hundreds of employees they definitely help the community

Know a guy who works in finance for a dealership, did sales for years. They are not your friend, he lies all the time to people, misleads them. Constantly.
The only nice thing is when I tell other finance people that I know him they tend to treat me better. Almost instantly the mask comes off and they aren't trying to dick me around.

Dealerships are dens of schemers and sharks in my expectation generally when it comes to sales and finance. If new cars were easier to maintain independently, dealerships would lose their asses because its the parts and service departments that keep them cash positive at all.
