In this video I read Nietzsche's Dictum of the Death of God in the context of his broader historical project. Are we today capable of hearing the horrifying sound the dying of a God makes? Are we capable of accepting what it means that God is dead, that we are only starred at by an empty space?

You explain Nietzsche that, if you pardon the expression, creates meaning for me. American Christians took "God is dead" as an insult or threat. Did European Christians? I never did. If you read Nietzsche in context, and reframe, shouldn't Nietzsche actually be an inspiration for Christians, or any theistic search for meaning? God is dead, and so the screams of the abyss get louder, and we just put on noise cancelling headphones and commit suicide. We get what we really want dont we? I like your style and interpretation. I used to think that the German philosophers were simply angry protestants who needed to travel to Italy and relax a little. But when they are taken in the context of their times, and we realize how they are prophets that presage our own time, maybe they were not that bad and would actually drink beer with us ! I came across you based on the Vervaeke channel and I just subscribed to you. Thank you.

You have a gift for explanation and could hardly be dedicating yourself to a more important subject.... great to see.

A very powerful presentation indeed - and yes, it needs time for the picture and the desperate cries of the Madman to echo on in our psyche.... and stir things in the depths! You help me slow down again after the lectures of Vervaeke where I could not catch up with the words and the plethora of his insights. But this is exactly what I need right now. Pauses, staring into space and see what is being stirred in the depths....Thank you!
