The true meaning behind - Nietzsche, 'God is Dead.'

In this brief video, I describe what Nietzsche meant by the death of God. Nietzsche felt that the Enlightenment had nullified the possibility of the existence of God. With Christianity being the dominant source of value, especially here in the Western world, Nietzsche felt that we did not need to return to Christian tradition, but rather discover our own values through complete affirmation of life.

Nietzsche even went so far in his thinking that he brilliantly predicted the monstrous events that would befall humanity in the 20th century. What Nietzsche saw was that when value is lost, people will adhere to nationalism, or collectivist political ideologies in order to quench the thirst for value. The only way out of nihilism, according to Nietzsche, is to completely affirm one's existence here on this earth.

This is so true. I am a Christian and I see all Atheists make this statement out of context and ignorance especially when I had started reading Nietzsche's work. Oddly, his views on Nihilism sounded no different than mine if God were to abandon from mankind.
