My dad was a Corsair plane captain. He told me so many stories about it. Incredible airplane. I've always been in love with it.

Whispering Death, Corsairs by far were the wickedest looking prop strike fighter in WW2 and Korea in my opinion. Prop so big they had to bend the wings so it wouldn’t hit the ground, how else could you say, mil-spec awesomeness.

My grandfather said when you heard the planes come around you felt like your big brother came to help you fight. Anytime a plane flew over his house years later you could tell he wanted to hit the deck.

Pappy was so hard-core he dared the Japanese to come up and then when he got shot down, he became the cook and gained weight in a POW camp. He got out and met up with his war buddies, and they drank a toast to the squadron and their buddies
