Ramiel looks like the most horrifyingly difficult thing to animate, and simultaneously one of the most fun things to animate.

Ramiel gives me the idea of “this is the biblically accurate angel”
It moves in physically impossible ways like we’re looking at a 4D organism from a 3D perspective, it screams and creates vocalizations that remind me of gospel choirs, and there’s no possible way to know what it’s thinking but you can tell it’s trying to do something specific

What I like best about Ramiel is how it reacts to pain, turning its body into a plethora of spikes like it’s a defense mechanism. I also like how unlike in the original it’s implied that the spooky vocals are coming from it instead of just being ambiance

I love that with almost every beam it uses the exact amount of power it thinks it needs to destroy its target, but after it actually takes damage it gets pissed and just decides “y’know what? FUCK you and everything in your general direction”

I like how Ramiel's beam has infinite different power settings but it prefers always to select the correct one even if there's seemingly no drawback for overkill. Then it gets annoyed when an unforeseen barrier shows up and it has to re-calibrate.

I didn't notice this until now, there's a rainbow that is shown when it falls after dying due to the amount of blood raining from it. Chilling.

The fact that Ramiel doesn’t just blow up the mountainside, but melts it, is absolutely horrifying to think about. The sheer amount of power required to do that is incredible.

I like how Ramiel actually starts fighting seriously once it realizes the humans that it was at one point, swatting away like flies, can actually hurt it.

I like about how fast Ramiel returns to "default state" when mortaly wounded. It's like the angel realizing something is wrong.

The fact Ramiel is capable of swiftly adapt to what’s attacking it and wipe it out in seconds is a nerve racking concept

Imo this has always been the most terrifying angel. It is literally just a shape that fucking kills. You cannot read it. You cannot know what it is thinking. The only thing
You can know is what it is trying to do, and the sheer raw power it has to do it. The fact that it screams with a Human voice and bleeds makes it that much more horrifying to me because despite being utterly alien in design, appearance, intelligence and biology, it still has a connection to mankind.

What always impressed me about this franchise is just how much infrastructure destruction goes on and how quickly they end up fixing it.

I think what’s most disturbing about ramiel is the fact that you can’t tell what it’s thinking. It looks and acts like an object, with no wants or needs, just existing, carrying out the function it was made to do. The unnatural (to us, at least) way it moves so you never really know what it’s about to do, attack or defend, makes fighting it truly terrifying.
