God gives us free will (thanks?) But then punishes us for it. sad

If the consequence of having free will is eternal fucking torture, because it’s “not loving God” to disagree with the church’s stance on something so trivial as, say, attending church on Sunday—then NOT having free will sounds a hell of a lot better for everyone involved.

I thought you were gonna bring up the obvious point that if god wants us to love him then he could just show up and stick around

Still doesn't justify hell either

So God say Hitler and just went “Yup, this is the best possible Earth”

How is god not able to override this “free will” part of the universe he fuckin created?

Even computer programmers design virus protection for computers. God didn't think about installing a virus protection in his choice creation. Negligent creator!!!

God gives you free will but will burn you for eternity if you make use of it.

Just take a moment to imagine how bad the *other* universes must be 💀

His love is not freely given though, its conditional. You are punished severely if you don't reach his standards. How is that love?
He built you to sin and when uou do he scorns you? Just sounds like an abusive relationship to me

The argument Turek presents here is that if God made everyone believe in Him, this would impede on our free will. The big problem I take with this argument is that supposedly Satan and the other fallen angels all lived in heaven with God, were fully aware of Him as someone with whom they could directly interact, had knowledge of His vast power, and yet all of these angels were able to turn away from God, of their own free will, condemning themselves to an eternity of hellfire. So it really seems like if God made His existence blindingly obvious in every imaginable way, this really would have no effect on free will.

My primary objection to Christianity is the existence of non-resistant non-belief, which seems to be incompatible with a Christian worldview, based on Psalm 14, Romans 1, Job 12, among others. Maybe there's some other possible way to interpret these passages, but it really seems to me that in order for Christianity to be coherent, one must do a lot of mental gymnastics in order to dismiss every single thinker in history who has failed to embrace God as an absolute reality.

Freewill never once prevented God from acting in the Bible, but it sure has become his Achilles heal today. Weird.

God is all powerful. But he's broke and needs your money.

What incredible logical loopdeloops people make. I say that as someone who made these kinds of arguments to myself and others...

Could have hypothetically set up a world in which it would be exceedingly unlikely, if impossible to have the desire to sin. Like abundance of all good things and giving everyone a perfect understanding of "morality".

By what definition must love be freely given? The love shared between infant and mother is not freely given, it’s instinctual.

*Hey Frank, *

Nobody is making a "free choice" if they get told one of their choices must lead to eternal torture.

The "love" you speak of being "requested" under threat isn't a "request", it's a _demand_ because of the threat of eternal torture.

Your argument is nonsense, and your religion is _absurd._ 🙄

It's impossible to love someone who has ultimate control over you with no accountability and no recourse. That isn't love; it's a hostage situation.
