I love how even the most seemingly mundane planets are spectacular and unique in their own ways. It's a nice time to be alive, being able to learn all of this as the discoveries are being found.

"Pluto is always hiding its heart from Charon in this eternal waltz"
I think of this line for the rest of the week and smile.

I remember 10 years ago on a field trip to a planetarium the presenter told us how new horizons will give us a ton of information about pluto. We have come so far!

As much as I adore Pluto and I'm always excited to heart about new discoveries from it.. that Alpha Centauri photo comparison blew my freaking mind. Comparing the two images gave a sense of depth that you don't often get with space images and shows just how close alpha Centauri is to us, while also showing just how far *Everything* is from us. It's instane.

The ending was so impactful...Thought provoking and somewhat emotional. Might just be existential dread.

Pluto's year is ~240 Earth years long. We haven't even known about this little planet for ONE of its years, lol!

When I was in my 20's (back in the late 90's) I would have never imagined that I would ever see high resolutions of Pluto in my life time (much less Neptune). I'm 44 now and I hope to still be around 20 more years. I can't even imagine what we'll see then.

New Horizons: "Nice knowing ya, Pluto."
Pluto: "Hey come back I haven't finished yet!"

Cold hearted Pluto and heartless Charon. Dreamteam.

I was like 13 or 14 when NASA and the Post Office released the Planets series of stamps. I remember wondering why we hadn't gone to Pluto yet. I followed New Horizons from launch and gosh what a wait for it to arrive. I remember being nervous the week before closest encounter. I can't imagine how the New Horizons team felt during that time.

New Horizons did not disappoint. Amazing work and the images were gorgeous.

You said some new discoveries have been unearthed, but haven't they been unpluto'd?

Today, I learned that Pluto has liquid water inside and is tidally locked with Charon. Love this! Don't stop.

I was looking for this on your channel a week ago, and now you dropped this! Thank you man.

These "updates' are fascinating. Space objects are not static; chronicling the dynamism will only lead to greater and greater insight about the processes involved. Keep 'em coming, please.

An amazing science teacher got me hooked on space. I would say that means a lot as an English major I don't have a lot of interest in science. Thanks for feeding my mind Astrum.
