What Did NASA Discover in Latest Photos from Pluto?

On the periphery of the Solar System there is a little world bound by toxic ice lurking amid the great abyss of space. A giant shadow covering the stars from sight is unmovable over its rugged horizon, and the dim Sun slowly traverses the sky. The Sun rays here are not able to dissipate the semi-darkness that the frozen plain wrinkled with bottomless crevices is perpetually shrouded in. This is Pluto – a lifeless kingdom of rock and ice covered by a perpetual shadow. Let’s find out more about it.

It’s so amazing to know these things are really out there. Some may say ‘It’s just Pluto, big deal’, but still, it blows my mind that these places exist.

I was born with many difficulties in my life. Although I am not fully educated, I have a strong love for science and the universe. Thank you for bringing it to me. Love you

Pluto will always be a planet to me. 💜

“Cthulhu Macula” is honestly the most terrifying thing about the Pluto. Imagining standing on the deep red surface there while in the dark as if it’s night is terrifying. That music didn’t help.

Even if there's no life, it's somehow comforting to know there's still 'things' in the universe. Rocks fall, storms rage and things happen. A universe not stagnant of events even if there's no life.

In 2006 scientists classified Pluto as a dwarf planet, since then it has been restored to planet designation and the scientists are now known as dwarf astronomers.

It doesn't matter how long we have to wait between videos, it's always worth the wait. Your channel is excellent and much appreciated.

I love that you said "according to the currently accepted model". It is so important we are honest with ourselves as humans when sharing discoveries. Rather than trying to tell me what is, you told me what we think based on what we know. I can't tell you how much more palatable information can be when we can theorize together, instead of being brow beaten into some neo-scientific faith of unquestionable "facts" that must be accepted.

I think it's great that Pluto was reclassified as a dwarf planet, along with the discovery of four other dwarf planets. It's proof that we're constantly discovering something new every time we look out into space.

Truth is, it didn't "circle" around Pluto to investigate other objects but because it was way to fast to enter a stable orbit. It would either have to carry a hell of a lot fuel to slow down or it would have been necessary to send it to Pluto much slower which would have made for a more sophisticated orbiter design to last much longer years than Horizon will, the additional wait on top.

One of the best of all space documentaries that I have encountered in the past decade. Well paced, narrated, and informed. Note: I will always suspect that it was Charon that collided with Pluto, as both share common coloration at two points. Tholens, maybe, but common to both.
