I still dont understand estimating order. It just seems like a lot of guessing and I dont understand the logic of how to choose the numbers to work with

But how do we estimate that 1/6 are students from 1-12? I would assume we could do something quick like:

Usually, there are 2 kids per household. That would be about 150M kids but since not everyone has kids, maybe we can divide it by 2? Let’s say then there is 75M kids from 1-12. Since many of those kids are now adults, then we deduct a fraction from the 75M. Is this the rationale you used to reach 50M professor?
