How to Calibrate to Higher Paying Clients

Показать описание
Working with high paying clients has little to do with
- experience
- talent
- hard work
..If this were true then my talented younger filmmaker sister would be a billionaire.
Yes it's true that hardworking and talented people have been known to make money, but also observable is those without much effort wiping out the floor.
Hard work and talent are valuable in that they serve to help us believe we are deserving of it.
Money, however, is readily available, infinite because it is a representation of value.
It doesn't discriminate.
And to calibrate to more of it, or higher paying clients, it requires us to lead the way.
Here's what I mean by that - when I decided that I was tired of always feeling bad for sending clients their invoices or following them up I realised my clients weren't about to value me the way I desired.
I had to value myself first and say "no" or ask for more.
To do this, I had to invoke the freelancer that charged higher prices in order for me to charge higher prices, just as an actor would.
An actor will study their subject and then mimic their mannerisms, tone of voice, posture, actions and behaviours and closely as possible.
This i what I practiced, again and again until I was rejecting clients that weren't at the price point I desired and refixing my price.
From the outside looking in, this was crazy behaviour because I was in no financial position to turn down a client - even a low paying one. And I was pretty fresh to the industry.
I had to talk the walk and felt like a massive imposter.
But the more I practiced the invocation within my being, the more my reality began to change.
iI you're trying to make this leap yourself remember that you must lead the way. You are the ripple that reality responds to.
YOU have to take the first step, ALWAYS.
The gap between will fill in the moment you do.
