I wish channels like this one had more views, this is just the perfect video. No annoying parts, straight to the point, clear enough and with great presentation (plus audio and the rest) to boot. Thanks for the excellent video, kudos sir.

Turn off the chroma all the way, turn the contrast and brightness all the way down, then bring up the brightness using the PLUGE pattern that is the bottom right hand pattern, until only the right stripe is showing, the left stripe should match the background black. Contrast should be done next with clipping pattern. Spears and Munsil is the best source for a test disc. Bring the contrast up until the power supply begins to clip, then back it off 2 notches, that allows head room for very bright peaks. Then bring up the PLUGE pattern and see if the bars are right. Brightness and contrast push and pull one another.
You may have to go back and forth several times until you get the best setting for the black and white levels. Then do the color. The method shown with a filter works fine. The sharpness should be done as well. There are patterns for that as well. Shut off all the automatic settings, in the menu. Also a setting for Gamma is needed.

You saved us a lot of headaches from these scammers that calibrate the TV and try to charge arm and a leg cuz nothing's 100% even with the highest end. It's funny because your eyes would adjust to anything after a few minutes of watching TV or does the TV watch you that's the million dollar question.

Blacks put black the window will get brighter as you raise black the screen is optimal black when you cant go lower and the blacks appears the same so eg 50 default 51 blacks lift at 49 black screen still looks the same as 50 50 is your best setting

Hi there, thank you, well explained, great video...However, I do have one question, which video or image do you recommend for doing these tests for a 4k display. The reason I ask, is that you will find many of these on Youtube, but they do look different even if they claim to be for a 4k display. Example, on one video, without manipulating any settings, I can see all the bars on the bottom right, on another video, I see none...so, if possible, can you recommend a link or vid or image that will serve as a proper reference. Thank you!

Nice video! Wouldn't it be better to use blue filter glasses instead of what you did.

Wow, man! I've had no idea how to calibrate a display! I just knew colors things and you measure them but how it's done. And I never truely understood brightness/contrast setting when the first time booting up a game and it always seemed to be bad image to me when I do what they say like reduce the brightness till the dragon is not visible. THEN I'M NOT GONNA SEE ANYTHING, SCRUB!!! So, I always left them at their default values and now I get that it's to get accurate image. What about other colors though? You didn't show other colors. Are we gonna do the same thing what you did with blue for other colors with same color filter and figure out how to do it following your instructions? If so you didn't fully show it but show us how we can figure out doing the same thing to other colors. But it is to display more color shades, not to get accurate colors. What if we get oversaturated, too much colors like LG's ugly green more so yellow!

I have been told that this may help me with an issue I am having. When I playback some 4K UHD titles I get ghosting / Frame retention. This may have nothing to do with calibrating the image on my 4K Samsung screen, Just wondering if you have ever come across this issue on you travels? Thank you.
