The Queen’s Shocking Past Reveals The REAL Reason She Turned Evil In Snow White | Villain Backstory

There is no argument that the Evil Queen from Snow White was a through-and-through Disney Villain. But she wasn’t given much of a back story in the movie and it almost seemed like her only motive for being evil was because she wanted to be the “Fairest of them all.” Well, thanks to Serena Valentino’s book, “Fairest of All: A Tale of the Wicked Queen,” fans were given a bit more insight into all of the ingredients that came together to create the villain that almost killed Snow White. Be warned, when you hear the truth about the origin of the Evil Queen, it might give you a different perspective on one of Disney’s first villains, in the most gut-wrenching way.

I imagine on Snow White wedding day, she looks through out the window and see glance of her father, late mother and step mother smiling at her and when she takes another look they are gone. Snow White believe her parents and step mother are watching over her in heaven on her big day, proud that she became the most beautiful woman she is now today.

I think the mirror was the main villian. Sure the dad started it and the cousins trapped the dad’s soul, but the mirror was truly what changed her personality

Imagine if she had more mirrors that actually had different opinions, others would say she’s actually the fairies, others would mention other girls from the kingdom’s village she barely even knows, others would say it’s Snow White, while others might even mention a completely different girl from a foreign land she isn’t even familiar of. I wonder how she’ll take it, if the numbers of mirror that told her she’s the fairies is VERY EQUAL to those who mentioned those other girls they said to be the fairies.

I love how this is a story that portrays a cautionary tale of how a childhood trauma can lead to a cognitive bias in an otherwise well meaning person... which when triggered could lead someone to hurt an innocent. Which is why we should all be wary of the traumas that we carry with us and deal with them in a healthy way. So as not to pass it on to someone else 🙂

I find the evil Queen back story in once upon a time very interesting.

She loved another man, a lowly man only noble in name, and wanted to be with him but her mom was eager to fullfill threw her her own Desiree.

She locked them in a trap, killed the man and forced the future evil Queen to marry the king who found comfort in her appearance because she looked so much like his deceased wife.

In the live action movie Snow White and the Huntsman, Revena and her brother had been living peacefully in a village until it had been attacked by a local king. The survivors enspelled her to take revenge. She did so, but wasn't satisfied, so she began targeting other kingdoms until she got to Snow White's father.

I'm a big Evil Queen Fan. I'm actually happy to know her backstory. I've seen so many different snow white versions and Evil Queen versions that always had her misunderstood, plus this character with different versions, like Once Upon a Time version, this character was always someone I could relate to.

It's almost like instead of hating villains we should look to see what caused them to become villains in the first place... As an adult I've found I can understand and sympathize more with villains then the supposed heros.

In The legend of Snow White TV show. The evil queen backstory was basically like this. She was a kind and beautiful young girl and her old aunt was a witch and was jealous of her beauty. So she used the mirror's magic to transfer her soul into Queen Crystal ( That's the name the evil queen is given) or something like that and from that day onwards she became a different person

my fave backstory is once upon a time seeing regina be evil because she was angry from her abuse from her mother cora because cora was angry from her father abusing her the cycle giveas a backstory to show how hurt people hurt others but regina broke the cycle

The truth is, not all villains have a tragic story behind them, some people lack empathy, are narcissistic, antisocial. I just watched a video of a "friend" pushing another off a 60 foot bridge, intentionally and forcefully. Even if the girl intended to jump, a fall from that height into the water is no joke, so much so that she ended up with broken ribs and a punctured lung, I guess from one of the broken ribs. Controlled fall is not the same as falling in any way. The "girlfriend" did not go to help her, she did not go to the hospital, she even downplayed the seriousness of the matter. She was given 2 days in jail, it should have been more. Most likely it was jealousy. A certain lying politician and scammer in the USA, initials GS, with relatives from South America, reminded me of a former co-worker, by chance from the same country, and no, there is no irony in my words. He had a job, he was a supervisor, his life, he was well considered among those he worked for, I treated him somewhat, but little. The company was his guarantor of the rent, he borrowed money from various colleagues and promised to pay it back when he received his salary. Of course, we found out about this after the fact. As soon as he got paid, he left the apartment and fled to his country, leaving two months' rent unpaid, bills, and defrauding those who lent him the money. It arose from some conversation that he had planned, it wasn't an emergency or anything. Nowadays, villains are always looking for a tragic past. Not everyone had it, some people choose to be, because life is easier for them. Search for power, money, fame, a false sense of importance, insecurity and jealousy, mediocrity, selfishness, are some of the things that move them. And let's not talk about things like serial killers, for example.

I’ve always thought that the Queen wasn’t truly evil but rather misunderstood and all she really wanted was to be loved but no one would ever give her any and all of the kingdom’s love went instantly to Snow White leaving the Queen very lonely and unloved and the Mirror Spirit was essentially the closest thing to get any love she had left and when it even refused to give her a single compliment to help preserve any self worth the Queen had left inside of her, she snapped mentally. She didn’t want to get rid of Snow White but she saw no other way to get any love.

If I remember correctly the odd sisters were in the back story of Gotel too. Looks like they play a big role in the Disney universe.

Snow white is the first disney princess in my favorite disney movies, and yes you are right you DID change my perspective on the queen, it reminded me the concept of the evil queen's childhood from my own fanmade story so thank you so much for letting us know this
