Why do I suffer for Adam and Eve's sin? - Ask Dr. Stanley

This is most definitely one topic I struggle with as a Christian.

I know God is just but I cannot understand how God is just by not only punishing Adam and Eve for their sin but allowing the entire human race to suffer the consequences of their sin. By that logic I was never given a chance to be sinless so how am I responsible for my sins?

Adam and Eve had no excuse, they walked with God, talked with God, they knew God and Adam even seen God create animals so he could name them. I can understand how they were responsible for their sin. We however cannot control weather we are born into a Christian home or a satanist home. We don’t get to see God, talk to God, wall with God etc.. we are asked to believe (I know this is starting to sound like an atheist comment but I’m trying to make a point) blindly with only a book.

My point is Adam and Eve had direct contact with God and chose to disobey him. I can understand why they are punished. I simply cannot understand how God is just by punishing all of creation for it. Satan was the highest of the angels and when he sinned all of the angels did not pay for it, only the angels who followed him..

I just wish someone could give a better explanation

This has never bothered me because I know that the same weakness of man resides in me too, therefore, we to would have failed as did Adam/Eve.

One of the best pastors of our time he really knows his scriptures from the Bible I love Jesus so much for everything and yes Adam and Eve had to suffer the consequences of there actions like all of us we are all sinners thx to Jesus we can be forgiven and set free and be with him someday.🙏😇

First of all, this is not supposed to be a blasphemy, GOD knows what he is doing, and he is our LORD, I believe in his perfection and his love for us, so I also recommend others to respect and love GOD, even when they have some questions on their mind, like I do sometimes. I'm wondering why GOD haven't made us immune to the sin when we were just created, just like HE is? I mean, HE never had a temptation to commit a sin, so why HE didn't create us with that quality? Thank you

Eve sinned before eating the fruit. She added to what GOD had told them "you must not touch it, or you will die.
That is sin, right?

The video says that this is just how God arranged things: Adam and Eve sinned, so we suffer. We should be grateful that, having arranged things this way, God offers us a way out.

But WHY did God design the universe this way? He could have set things up any way He wanted. Why did He arrange to have Adam and Eve's sin make us suffer? That's the key question, and the video doesn't go anywhere near it.

If Adam and Eve were not sinners before they sinned, Did they have original sin? If they were perfect and without sin, why couldn’t they simply obey God and tell the serpent no?

Is this stating that they were created with a sin nature? Or that sin is more powerful than we can handle when left up on our own?

I love watching all your videos and you are part of my bible study every morning but one thing i dont understand is, Why didnt God forgive Adam & Eve but cast them out of his garden?

Ezekiel 18:20 we are responsible for our own actions only. Can't blame Adam or anyone else. It's our choice and will be judged accordingly Romans2:5-11 John5:28-29 that's why it matters how we live, what we do in this lifetime.

Even if they didn't eat the fruit of knowledge of good and evil there would still be sin in the world. Even if adam and eve never entered into sin their decendents would, this I know of human nature!

2:27 - You're not responsible for Adam and Eve's sin. This is why the questioner can have comfort and does not need to be resentful

This video doesn’t answer the question. He just went through the basic story. There was no explanation beyond, ‘that’s just the way it is’. Quite unsatisfying.

I wish Adam and Eve hadn't of rebelled against God then life wouldn't be the way it is noone would of been born into sin but I read someone's comment saying if they hadn't of sinned sin would of still been here someone else would of committed sin.

Where in the old Testament does it say everyone is born with original sin.
