Intel Core i5-11600K: it made LEO smile

Well it was fair to say that the i9 11900k we reviewed earlier today didn't really delight Leo too much, at least the £250 Core i5 11600k seems to have redeemed Intel somewhat - Leo explains why in our article.

I'm happy you made two separate videos for the 11900k and 11600k. It really helps differentiate your tone towards the value of the two products.

I just got a 10600K boxed new for only 180$! No competition with 5600x then!

Now you have done the CPU test, can you please check out the graphics with the APU without a GPU for "budget builds" to use until GPUs become available and affordable? Compair the new i5 11600K APU graphics to the graphics performance of the AMD Ryzen 5 3400G, which was the previous gaming king for APU? AMD dont seem to have bothered with a 5000 series APU (possibly to try force people to buy their more expensive GPUs instead), so has Intel managed to overtaken them with their 11th gen APU? Does Intel's 11th Gen APU graphics beat AMD's RX VEGA 11 graphics? Are the graphics upto 50% better in the 11th gen than the 10th like intel claimed they would be?

Recently upgraded to i5-11600kf with 2060 super, good performance overall. the cpu can be overclocked to 5k mhz

I was going to buy a 5600x and switch to team red for the first time, but when I learned I would have to flash my own bios on my own NEW motherboard rather than it being compatible right out of the box. I hate the fact that their making their own customers risk bricking their machine to use their products. So its intel this time around.

The mid range battle is heating up - I like this! :-)

I would like too see how it operates with a mid-range air-cooler most people use, for me temp results with this type of cooler are academic

It's ok, looks like great deal (AMD make it look good with 5600x price but that's different story). But one con comes to my mind. If I buy it today paired with decent MBO I'll probably save some money compared with similar AMD configuration. But, few years from now in AMD rig I can put second hand r9 and give that PC completely new life. Replacing this (with what? i9 11900?) wouldn't change much.
Is that really best way to save $50? Maybe for people who just buy whole new PCs every few years it is but for rest of us? Hardly a smart move.

I don't know if it matters, but was the motherboard Z490 or Z590? At 1:55 what you said and what's on the screen are different.

i5-11600K instock on Amazon $270, Ryzen 5600X in stock $363 corresponding Motherboards $100 and up depending on Features so there's potentially $90 savings you need to apply towards a cooler for a hotter CPU. I get it. finally some competition. Now AMD bring that 5600X down to a realistic Pre-covid price of $199 like the 3600X. I paid $140 for 3600 pre-covid, 3 of them. Intel still loses.

At least the 11600k is a viable option in the 6core/12thread cpu's . Head to head with Ryzen 5600x. The only downside of this intel processor (K) that most tech reviewers are not telling you is that you need a Z590 board to meet these benchmark scores. Z590 boards come with high prices compares to B550 or X570.

I ain't buying that piece of mediocrity on the part of Intel

They are forced to make a 6-core CPU to consume close to 180W to reach a 75W AMD CPU. How the might have fallen!

The price differential really needs emphasising: the 11600KF is £240; the Ryzen 5600 is £350.

The entire 11th Gen makes me want to poop!

Still meh...14nm and a high power consumption. I'll pass. Reminds me of Bulldozer...

I'm just here because I enjoy seeing Leo get pissed off at Intel and do everything within his power to not show it during the vid.

The power consumption is a joke compared to AMD.

New Intel flagship CPU for half the price you were used to! No thanks! I don't support bullies!
