This is why we need more companies like System76 that won't bend over for Microsoft's tyranny, and offer us laptops that Linux can be installed to without changing anything but the boot order in the BIOS. Microsoft is not our friend and never will be.

The FOSS community really needs to wake up and start pushing back. Uncontested, Microsoft will gladly go much, much further than this. The only possible corporate ally I see is Valve.

We need to get the FTC involved. This is clearly an anti-competitive move.

I threw Windows 11 in the trash. Put Linuxmint lmde5 on my main computer and PopOS on my secondary computer. To hell with Windows 11 spyware.

Every time Microshit does something to "improve security", 8\10 times it will impact Linux in a negative way

By planning to permanently abolish full compatibility with both Windows and Linux in favor of the former only, Microsoft as a whole has gone too far. At this rate, if Microsoft has their way, the used and refurbished PC market will eventually be abolished forever, and planned obsolescence will be here to stay. That would be a devastating blow to all would-be Windows-to-Linux migrants.

If MS was really an ally to Linux they would have open sourced some of their stuff already, or easier yet, make a Linux version of their office suite, that's like the bare minimum.

It’s “Embrace, Extend, Extinguish” all over again. In fact: it never changed. Microsoft’s methods just got more clever over time.

If you can, don't pay for windows and donate to your favorite linux projects. :)

This is so true. I had such a hard time installing Lenix on my Alienware gaming laptop. I finally got so frustrated with windows that I wiped it completely and I am on a Windows boycott. Windows was not allowing me to dual boot. I removed windows from all my other computers and I am only a Linux user know. Finally free from forced updates and my settings getting changed. This was a long time coming since I’ve been a windows user for a very long time. I’m so glad I made the change. Now I’m pushing Linux on all my friends a d family. Thank you Microsoft for all the hours of time wasted.

Unless we change the laws to counter this. It's already gone too far.

What I hope to see is Valve collaborating with Framework, Tuxedo, and other niche laptop brands to have their laptops come with SteamOS pre-installed. And then, Valve works its way up to the big boys like HP and Dell.

You are correct. I disabled many security settings on my laptop and desktop to properly install Linux. Acer laptops seem more Linux compatible than most.

You're right. It's a boiling frog scenario: make changes gradually so that people get used to inconveniences and don't notice that you're slowly taking control of their computers and what software it can run. Jody Bruchon had a similar video on this. I would not trust Microsoft as far as I could throw it.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't trust Micro$hit and their thick lie of loving Linux.
There are manufacturers, like HP, who won't let Micro$hit's monopoly to happen.

It's good that there are more computers coming with Linux out of the box. Like tuxedo and system76

Lets not forget theyre also pushing Edge down everyones throats now by having links in settings, searches and news forcefully open in it with no way to change it unless youre using a third party tool.

Honestly, this was pretty clear since they announced "Windows Subsystem for Linux"... I mean, it's in the name.
Their intention was never to propagate Linux usage, but to monitor it.

When things will take that turn, the hackers will rise and they will create exploits to use custom binary and will break the hell out of there tyranny like they do with gaming consoles.
This is the Beauty of Open Source and we will not let it die. #Linux4Life

I keep telling people: Micro$oft bought GitHub FOR A REASON! And it's not to help Linux users!
