I remember the first time I heard you play on Mac Park. I was a 15 year old kid who thought you could fly Lynn! At 60 years old I am still thinking you can fly! lol! All us trumpet geeks were amazed at the power and precision of your playing. And what's even more unreal is that your chops 50 years later still sound unbelievable to us mortals!

my friends an I saw you play with Maynard and the band at a high school in NY . As a bunch of high school stage band members, we had never seen or heard anything like it!! We just about lost our minds. You gave us so much inspiration. All these years later I still remember and still watch the videos. Thanks for the memories of a lifetime!

Every time I hear this bridge, I get goosebumps on top of my goosebumps. You are truly a gift from the God of Trumpets Lynn. In my opinion, this still reigns as the greatest trumpet solos, by ANY member of Maynard’s bands

Lynn your playing is so amazing with expression through the horn, and makes the song feel alive . I wished my band played this like on a football game or jazz performance and would've been awesome and unforgettable just like you toured with some of the best trumpeters of all time. Cheers 👏👏👏🎺🎺🎺💪💪💪🎶🎶🎶

I have to ask you to think back to those years in the 70’s to the guy who stood beside you for a bunch of years- do you remember Danny Welty?.. he had a few solos that I’ve seen on YouTube, but not many.
He was my uncle. I have his screecher mouthpiece.
Love watching the two of you together. I love bird land the best.

I never get tired of hearing the different times you played that solo. Lynn, do you think there are other good combinations of trumpets and mouthpieces that are great? Obviously your equiptment works the best for you, but do any others make sense? Lately I am seeing a lot of shallow equiptment with medium bore horns going for efficiency I guess. One good example might be Bryan Davis.

I saw you playing on that "Live At The Top" tv show and adopted the practice of holding my horn like you did thinking that it would make a difference. I did not know why at the time, but once I learned a bit more, it DID make the difference in giving me that extreme upper register ability. Thanks!

Hi Lynn, I recently bought your xpiece and reversible rim. I have to say that the xpiece is magical!
As for the rim, I was wondering if you have any tips on how to use it? I did read the instructions that came with it but I was wondering how should I know if I am using too much pressure and should I work my way to the high c first if the higher notes aren't coming out?
Thanks a lot, huge fan here!
