Favorite Stones song....
It's a late evening in July 2024. 73 and still enjoying!

That sax is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard in my life. It is like he's playing a song that is seperate from the main song and which somehow repeatedly merges and seperates from the main song.

To go back 40 years when life was fun and simple would be amazing! This video does that for me. Thankyou Mick and crew! RIP Charlie Watts, Ian Stewart and Brian Jones. May your music play forever!

What a gorgeous solo from Sonny Rollins. I love the story behind this. Jagger wanted to ask Rollins, probably the top jazz sax man of the time, to put a solo on the song. Charlie Watts - a serious jazz fan - said 'he'll never do it'. But Jagger asked, and Rollins indeed said no. But Rollins' wife persuaded him. When the saxman came into the studio, Jagger was nervous about working with a jazz great, and asked Rollins how he wanted to go about it. Rollins said, you stay in the studio with me, you dance and I'll take my cue for what to play from your moves. Some kind of genius there! If only someone had video'd it.

Years later, Rollins heard something on the radio, liked the sax playing, and wondered who it was. Eventually he discovered it was him, on one of those Rolling Stones songs!

The mellow vibe of this fine song, the early 1980s NYC atmosphere, the simple joy of their friendship, the superb musicality... it's a treasure!

There's something very melancholic about this song reflecting back at that time not one person looking down at a phone

I recently lost my dad a few weeks ago, this was his favorite song. we hung out and had some beers every friday night the last few years and this song is really special to me. He would always be in his front porch having a smoke waiting on me to come over . just waiting on a freind :)

This song really speaks to me. Not looking for a lover, users, or any shallow people, but a friend who will stick with me through thick and thin, a companion through life. 👍

This is a beautiful piece of the 70s look at his face in the beginning
