Hoplites are incredibly useful and devastating when used properly. Carthage, Pontus, and even Rome in its early Hellen like era used Hoplite style troops and phalanx formations. Great video bye the way and awesome animation!

The correct pronunciation for the spear (Δόρυ) is Dor-ee. Just something to consider.

Lovely work. But the phalanx would drift to the right - not the left - as each hoplite was protected in part by the aspis of the hoplite to his right.
