Love this - "it's about how you make someone feel during the buying journey" More brands need to remember this. This is such an important step and part of the customer journey and if you get this right, it sets you up for future sales and a long term customer relationship

John - this is spot on. I have moved often and people think I am crazy for being so loyal to distant merchants/service providers who have provided an exceptional experience for my family and I.

I can confirm... I work at a Tractor Supply (retail store for rural life, for those who aren’t aware) and their main focus for employees is providing legendary customer service. Long story short, there’s another Tractor Supply about 30 minutes from my store and we have about 5 customers a week tell us they live right next to the other store but drive an extra hour out of there way because of our customer service compared to the other stores. While I do think prices and marketing play a role into a store’s success, neither of those would be possible without great customer service

First, the video sound is very low. However, he made some valid points on the delivery of customer service to gain the momentum of good business principles of customer services to climbing that ladder. Great speaker!

Wow, what an inspiring personal story! It's amazing how one exceptional customer experience can leave such a lasting impression and turn someone into a lifelong customer. Ruth truly understood the importance of making her customers feel special and important. Her story reminds us that customer experience is not just about the product or service, but also about the emotions and feelings a customer experiences during the buying journey. It's a great example of why delivering exceptional customer experience is key to the success of a business.

I agree 100%. I'll pay more, and drive a little bit farther, for a better customer experience any day of the week.

Sorry, that quote is from Carl Buechner. Maya Angelou said "They may forget YOUR NAME but they will never forget how you made them feel." Very, very close.

Great job, John! Spot on. It's NICE to be seduced by exceptional customer service. Give the customer not just what they want, but what they need - which may be what they want, yet not know it. And do it with service and class and you may end up with a customer for life. Thanks for sharing this great story, John!

The day the owner walks away and hands the running of the store to low-paid casual employees is when the end is near.

This is what I get when I Google customer service for youtube? Try it several times and I get the same result. I guess they don't want to hear our complaints. They are about to lose me for good anyway.
