GENAU!!!
I also a blend of Debian and Arch with different DE and WM. Why? Because it fits my needs, period.
And you are 100% correct about the war of the distros, Joe, it's total BS, let's be kind to each other and get our Penguin community going and growing!
The only ones to benefit of the war of the distros are Apple and Microsoft, they thrive on the divide!

So very true Joe, I use Arch based distro's, Debian based distro's and Ubuntu based distro's. I use what I like and the same goes for the desktops I use, such as Gnome, KDE, xfce, openbox and so on.There is too much childishness in the world today and too many people believe that they are victims of everything. The time is ripe for all of us to live in harmony and respect each other and peoples views.

I am a long term Debian exclusive user, I love it, yes like all distributions it has issues but generally they can be resolved with little trouble. I have been an exclusive Linux user for a couple of decades and I would never dream of using anything else. I never really got into the "Linux community online" because I am not interested in what others are doing but the other reason I avoid getting involved online is because of unpleasant thoughtless self centred people who not only troll others but actively waste others time when they have problems. I would be interested in creating a community where we support each other properly and don't have members who sit in their ivory towers spouting RTFM or trying to make others feel inferior just because it makes them feel moderately more powerful. If as Linux fans we don't embrace all the good that comes out of the open source community and give each other genuine help and support then Linux will always be largely ignored by most people.

The silly thing is that people are debating over philosophies and configurations. It's all pretty much the same software at the end of the day.

Hello Joe!
I absolutely agree with your thoughts, I've saw many places where GNU/Linux community starts there fighting because they use X distro and the other party uses Y distro. I've subscribed you. In my main computer I use Debian and in other one I use Void Linux.
Have a good day, Joe!

Linux could use
some unification
& simplification
in it's packages &
management.

Question for you Joe- I heard that OpenSuse is very popular in Germany. This that still the case?

This was a nice trial ... but you didn't consider to search the 'roots' for all this (as you name it) "aggression", which doesn't have to do anything with Linux, not even with IT...
You criticizes simply the symptoms of the growing selfishness and decreasing social abilities widely spread.
And you hardly will make people make realize these simple things... because of many reasons - basically the massive loss of logic thinking capabilites.
